Post A note to everyone
Please don't go into the review forum, go to one of the stickied threads for a movie opening this weekend just to leave a post saying that you'll see it this weekend. If you see it this weekend, we'll find out when you write down your review. But if you don't have any thoughts on the movie, please don't post. Because it irks me every time I see a post in the thread for a movie I want to see, and it just turns out to be "Oh yeah, it looks good, I'll see it tomorrow" or whatever one may post.

Likewise, if there's a movie you don't want to see, pelase don't go into it's respective thread and post "Movie looks awful, I'll never see it." That's great, but in all honesty, if I wanted to read whether you wanted to see it or not I'd go to the Cinemania section. That forum is for posting your thoughts on the movie after you saw it, not your anticipation and what you might think of it based on trailers and marketing.

Maybe change the topic title to something like about reviews

Or to the ones who say that SUCKS without seeing it.

If the movie isn't your taste - move on to something that you like.

SUCKS isn't a film review until you see the movie.

uumm, i have a problem with having discussions of the review forum, because sometimes when before seeing a movie i want to check out what other fellow KJ'er think of it, and everyone is having this discussion, there ruining the movie for the other people who havent seen it and some, dont even put some sort of spoiler warning! (i know Spoliers are allowed, and i think that should be changed or hell just make them put a simple spoiler warning at least)
i just want to check a simple review but everybody is having this arguments about it ](*,)

the threads im talking about are, Crash and Episode III, and im pretty sure this wont be the only ones

The Everyone's A Critic forum is for Reviews and the Cinemania is for Movie discussions

it might just be me, but meh!....im just pointing it out!

matatonio, I think Everyone's A Critic is the perfect place for spoilers. Cinemania is for everything movies, including news, lists, etc. Everyone's a Critic is where the discussion happens, and therefore, things will be spoiled.

This seems like a good thread. Stars insomniacdude, with appearances by bABA, MikeQ., and Zingaling. I'll probably read it all tomorrow at a matinee showing. I'll post my review then.

If it's a highly anticipated movie forum-wide, I think people should take the courtesy to at least warn people about spoilers in their reviews. Let's use Batman Begins as an example. I know I'd be pissed if someone told me some of the major plot-points. But if it were a thread for an older movie...let's use Batman Returns. I doubt people would get upset if they talked freely about things like that.

Basically, use common sense, I guess. If you know someone will get upset if they read your review, please warn them.

My two cents, or one canadian dollar.

Well, it's hard to have a good conversation anywhere, then. People complain about spoilers in Cinemania unless the thread says "Spoilers" in the title. Even then, people still stumble upon them. We can't use the white writing everywhere to discuss a film.

Well put SPOILERS in the title, people cant complain if the title says that!

I agree. I don't think too much white writing should be used if it's for a hot discussion for a movie like Batmna or War of the Worlds. But at least put some sort fo spoiler warning in front of your post to show common courtesy to those that haven't seen the movie yet. I know that I'll be checking certian people's reviews whom I trust for their opinion on Batman, and I know I'd be really upset if it contained a spoiler completely out of the blue.

Everyone's A Critic has a spoiler warning, too. Read the description on the forum index.

"Give us YOUR reviews or comment on the site's reviews. Spoilers are ALLOWED inside."

I know what you're saying, insomniac. I don't know. Maybe it's just me that ignores ALL reviews from this site until I physically watch the movie. Unless, of course, I have absolutely no interest.

I agree wholeheartedly here, and I continue seeing people making random comments in the review threads. If you haven't seen the film and aren't planning to write a review or at least give out a grade, please don't write anything there.

I have updated the Critic forum's description.

For all mods, feel free to start PM'ing members who violate this little policy, just give them a heads up that they should not be commenting in that section if they have not seen the movie. No official warnings are needed, or should be handed out, just give them a friendly reminder. I think if we stay on top of this, it should be fixed in time.

Zing alot of this will fall on you, as you police this forum more than anyone. If you feel its overwhelming, just ask me personally, or another mod, for help.

I think any and all spoilers should be allowed in the everyone's a critic section, the complaining about this is just ridiculous. I very much agree with Zingaling. If someone reads that before they saw the movie, that's their problem.

A certain poster recently got chewed out and had his post edited because he named a cameo in the Wedding Crashers thread. I don't much like that poster but that mod action had me rolling my eyes, there was nothing wrong at all with naming that cameo, that's what the thread is for, to talk about stuff like that and not in white-out either.

Relax guys, you are trying to over-police that section.
