Okay guys, the complaining here is disorganized and decentralized. We should form some kind of a union. I'm not a big fan of some of the new smilies either. But instead of vague complaints, I'm going to get specific.

I feel, first and foremost, that as a rule, smilies should not distract from the text. I believe that, unless we want to turn from thinking beings into clowny mimes, we should preserve the superiority of text as expression. I feel that the overall look of these new smilies is too distracting from the text. Specifically, smilies which had been plain now have unnecessary colorshading that looks too "real," like .A single colorblock gets the point across without overwhelming the text.

I feel that the following smilies are improvements on emoticons that we already had and can replace the old ones. These new ones are still simple but express the emotion a little better:



I feel that the following smilies are downgrades from emoticons we already had. The old ones were simpler and just fine. These either are either just bed, or too colorful:

I feel that the following smilies reflect emotions that are commonly expressed here but that we didn't have before. Please keep these:



I feel that the following smilies are unnecessary as they represent either emotions that aren't common, are repeats of other smilies, or don't represent an emotion at all, or make no sense to me: They are also the most distracting.

Please bring back the smilie of the guy holding the candle...and the prayer smilie..and the basic happy/sad smilies.

Disclaimer: A lot of the old smilies are from a site that I recommended to Eagle, so I'm pretty biased.
