For some reason, it may go direct-to-DVD, which is a big mistake given how successful the others were.

If it goes to theaters, I'm excited. If not, I guess I'll rent it.

I think there are a couple of factors. The first is, when was the second film released, 2003? They might be thinking that even though the first two did well, people may have forgotten about them by the time 2008 (?) rolls around. The second is, they may know they have a shitty film on their hands and are making it on the very cheap in hopes of getting some money out of it.

Edit: Nothing is even final yet, and it may not even happen. I'm guessing it most likely will though.

Ugh, it better not be Direct-to-DVD. I would like another one, but not a Direct-to-DVD sequel. And they're stupid for even making one for Direct-to-DVD. The first two were hits and did great business on DVD. Even if the last one was awhile ago there's no real reason to believe that a third would bomb. Regardless, I'll see it, but I'm hoping it ends up being a theatrical sequel.

In addition to a third film, serious consideration is being given to a Jeepers Creepers TV series.

Um, why? Let's ignore the fact that the first two are really, really bad, and that the third doesn't stand to be much better since it has to either be a prequel or 23-years-later sequel. Who in the world would watch a Jeepers Creepers TV show, other than Joe, who watches every measly horror film that comes down the pike?

It could work on The Sci-Fi Channel where its ratings wouldn't have to be great to stay on the air. I'd watch it, especially if they explore the origins of the Creeper.

I don't anticipate every single thing, and typically avoid things that scream 'Crap!' a year before release. Kind of like Jeepers Creepers 3 and The TV Show Nobody Will Watch.

I didn't criticize you. And don't presume to tell me what I'm a fan of. There's a different between giving something a chance and blind anticipation -- and the rules change completely when it comes to sequels. I hated both Jeepers Creepers films, therefore I don't anticipate the third. I think Victor Salva is a poor writer/director, and that goes way behind this series.

Joe you really need to have thicker skin when it comes to things like that. You proudly proclaim that you'll watch movies simply because they're made by Lionsgate, and are the direct to video buff of the forum. Personal insults and pointing out personality quirks are very different things, and if anything you should be happy you're one one what appears to be the most pleasant yet interesting movie forums around.

Anyways I enjoyed both films enough to be interested in a third installment, especially if it takes place in the 1800s like it's been rumored forever. That said, a TV show would get incredibly repetitive, and as a fan of the genre Joe you should know by now that it's better when they don't explain every last detail of a monster's origin.

It will one day I'm sure. Would be crazy for them not to make one. I just hope it's sometime in the near future and that it's a theatrical release. The first is supposed to hit Blu-ray this fall (yay!). Hope it's out by Halloween.
