I voted tie for now, but you have to give lots of props to Star Trek for what it had to overcome in pulling off what is sure to be besting 10 ST openings, even adjusted for inflation and taking theater counts into consideration.
That's how you reboot a franchise, but BB was the original rebooter, and had to reboot against a very popular original Batman, so it gets lots of extra credit.

For pure entertainment I would say Star Trek is than Batman Begins.
However Nolan is far better director than Abrams. I also don't think Abrams could deliver a sequel that is anywhere near the standards of The Dark Knight.

I haven't seen Star Trek yet, but it won't take too much for me to enjoy it more than Batman Begins.

Batman Begins. It took a franchise that turned into a complete joke into TDK.
Star Trek is still a complete joke.

Batman Begins
While I enjoyed Star Trek and found it quite entertaining, it was no BB. I actually prefer BB to TDK.

Re: Better re-start: Batman Begins (2005) or Star Trek (2009)
Since he closed my site question with another bad decision. IMO! Maybe if he would have left if open people could have said whether it was true or not true. OR STILL HOPE ANOTHER ADM WILL RULE ON IT
Um they were both about comparing Star Trek and BB. Its closed for that reason. Case closed. Why would you ask that question anyhow when theres so many other threads you can answer that question? 2009 movies in review for one example and the Star Trek thread in the critics forum
***I see you just changed your reply > anyway, why can't this be a standalone question!
*********************
For some reason the ADM doesn't see that this is a totally different question. Batman Begins is the first movie in the franchase.
The Dark Knight was the second movie of the Batman series - and everyone saw it as the movie of the year > no one saw Batman Begins as the movie of the year.
******************************
1 thread is a specific question that asks how Star Trek compares with Batman as a re-start to each franchise. The other is a totally different question that asks in 2009, is Star Trek the movie of the year
* Star Trek, Is it the 2009 Movie of the Year like TDK in 2008 > Today alone, 8 people answered in thread and poll. And 2 people brought up great questions that I would like to reply to.
* Better re-start: Batman Begins (2005) or Star Trek (2009) > About 30 people answered this in the thread and the poll

Though I prefer Casino Royale to Batman Begins and Star Trek, Casino Royale isn't as EXCITING and overflowing with promise and possibility in the wake of the disappointed, half-assed QoS. I actually liked QoS. The first time around, I saw it in a really cramped movie theater at a mall. The way the seats and aisles were designed, no one had much leg room at all so it was a pretty uncomfortable experience sitting there for 2 hours. But I bought it on Blu-ray and I've watched it 4 or 5 times since then. I found that I enjoyed it a lot more once the expectations of "ultra hyped follow-up to Casino Royale" were completely gone and I was in a comfortable environment on my couch instead of a cramped and hot movie theater. First time I saw it, I rated it a 7/10 at IMDB. But with subsequent viewings, I've raised my rating to 8/10. The one aspect that I am still really disappointed in is the villain. Amalric's performance simply wasn't that good in my opinion, and I had heard he's a really good actor so I was expecting a lot more from him. At any rate, Casino Royale is a 10/10 in my book so even giving QoS a 8/10 rating is a couple notch drop-off for the series.

Re: Better re-start: Batman Begins (2005) or Star Trek (2009)
Maybe after the 2nd film. We can compare all 1/2 films.
But think right now the comparisions should only be about casino royale. Batman begins. Star trek (2009).
And I hope all know that when I say batman begins. I mean only batman begins and not every movie made in 2009 or every batman movie ever made. Ok is everyone clear on that.

why don't you have a choice for spider-man 2. I really think best one of all new movies.
