Pretty, and it reminds me of...

Which is fitting.

Yeah, I think Disney is aiming for a wide audience here, so the poster resembles part of Mermaid and Nemo. It'll be receiving a wide release (750 has been reported), and they have mentioned interest in beating Spirited Away's NA gross.

I hope the NA trailer is attached to UP.

Yes, you do.

Also, we can only hope elsewhere gets the same DVD treatment:

Miyazaki's latest film will be available in two tastes: a standard edition at a price of 4,935 Yen (containing English subtitles and a Dolby digital stereo and DTS-ES 6.1 audio track) and a special edition at a price of 19,110 Yen. Next to the film, the latter will contain a separate 12 hour 5-disc Making-of Ponyo DVD plus a DVD of last summer's Hisaishi Joe 25 year commemoration concert. For those longing for Miyazaki's first Ghibli in full HD the waiting is not over though. A Blu-ray edition will not be released earlier than December.

Available July 3rd, so I guess we could always import it.

12 hours making of?? Is Ponyo the next coming of Christ to justify making of that's more than six times longer than the movie itself? Or is it just that we finally see all the good making of parts and not just scrambled behind the scenes look etc.

I'm hoping Ponyo comes to the big screens here. Miyazaki pics are never shown in theaters here although people are aware of him around here and regard highly his work.

I'm looking forward to it, though Howl's was a tad disappointing.

Is it going to be released dubbed everywhere? If so might have to wait for DVD. :(
