I'm slowly approaching 4000. My goal is still to match the total points of everyone else combined. I'll need to kick it into high gear for that though.
I have found a few gems from the older lists that I never got around to watching that are worth lots of points now.

Unfortunately, Emmy has been disqualified.
Looks like Loyal will remain in the lead.

If you PM Rogue, I'm sure he'll talk to you about it.
You haven't updated your list in over 2 months though, that makes it very difficult for other players to gauge their chances to win.

If you look at previous posts, Emmy, you constantly said "I will update my list..." etc. The jury attempted to offer you a very long period of time without any repercussions. We are sorry for your domestic situation, but that doesn't mean that other participants need to be punished for your lack of updates.
If you do post the list, before the contest ends on Friday, you will not receive any bonus points. You will still receive the 5pt-1pt per movie but that is all.
Thank you.

Some comments. Schlomo, nice to see you think Dick Tracy is underrated too. I think its a great movie. For me, its actually even in the A range.
Zingy, Hahaha! You turned off Phantom half way through?
Loyal, Yes, the remake for Manchurian was quite different. I liked it alot better than the original. Incredibly subtle and smart commentary too, about national security hysteria, media, racial breakdown of the army, everything. Demme is a god.
More comments to come about other viewers lists soon.

Dolce, what I really enjoyed was the rich backstory in The Manchurian Candidate remake. So much is created (apparently the US is under constant terrorist attack) but it's left in the background for atmosphere. Genius.

yeh. Did you catch the radio going on in the background almost 24/7? I think he did a great job basically critiquing the "red Alert" system we have going today. maipulation, lack of information, constant fear. And he never put it upfront. It was just kind of playing in the background of stores, or the cheap tv's always on in the apartments. That entire movie is a case study in subtlty. Veyr smart. i actually wonder why people didn't really like it so much? Maybe the middle with the biting seemed over the top? I didn't think so though. I thought it was good from minute one.

I'm not sure why. It does turn really dark and strange once they dive into what happened during the experiments, it's very specific and sort of sickening. That's a lot to handle for some people.

I probably need to go back and re-watch it because I was less then impressed initially. Much of it to me was that it was paced quite slowly, and sometimes seemed incoherant. Might just have been my mood that day though.

I would recommend a second viewing. It is incoherant at times but I enjoyed the wild ride. Streep's speech about the sword forging in the fires of the desert, it was nuts.

Yes. Watch it again. I didn't even find it incoherent like other people I guess did?
What parts seemed like that to you guys?

Some of it lies in the structure. It felt at times like Manchurian Born Killers. But again, I think it was purposeful and the filmmakers weren't laying out all the cards for a reason.

The Manchurian Candidate was a really good movie, but did anyone find it a bit... predictable?
I guess what was going to happen 10 minutes into the movie.

damn I tired as hell I am on a quick break finally hold of a computer. I know its unfair that I have yet to update my list but my job is more important than anything right. i guess there is no real reason to post a list if no bonus points. note:I will only be on for about another 5 minutes
