Another of Tom Hank's tearjerkers here
Captain Miller's Tombstone being saluted by Private Ryan
Tom Hank's character childhood video shown in at the end of Philadelphia. That scene got me choked up

In my opinion, John Singleton single handedly won the best Director Academy Award with that scene. Too bad the Academy disagreed.
Danny Vinyard in American History X is tough to watch.
Willem Dafoe in Platoon is heart breaking.
Ricky's scene was emotional because he had an argument with his brother who was indirectly respondsible for his death. Doughboy really felt responsible for his death but he really got shunned by his own mother who felt that he has caused his boy's death
William Dafoe's scene made me more mad than being sad. It establish's Tom Berenger's character as the ultimate dickhead

Death No. 1: The Iron Giant in The Iron Giant. "Su-per-man..."
*ka-boom!*
Although technically he didn't die, it was still a startlingly poetic - not to mention ironic - death.
Death No. 2: Albert Finney in Big Fish.
The man turns into a fish. A Big Fish! Just like his stories. You could cut the irony with a knife. Or should I say gut the irony? Eh? Eh? You know, like you might gut a fish!
Death No. 3: Bennett in Commando.
"Let off some steam, Bennett". As poignant as is it ironic. All his life he was alive, and now he's dead.

Holy Shit.....those are absolutely awesome choices. Boromir's death is so powerful that it gets me evry time. Maximus dying is heightened by the amazing music and when Jack dies, I almost cry every time. [-X

jet li in hero!!! - in fact all the deaths in hero!! soooo sad! (and heroic- believe it or not)
oooh- also crouching tiger hidden dragon- *tear*
and love when alex's mother dies in goodbye Lenin- you know its coming but its sad- and then they launch a rocket into the sky of her ashes..
(hmmm- i see a theme of foreign films)
also I really like the romeo and juliet death scene with leonardo dicaprio and clare danes... quite a nice interpretation of the play.
... this is morbid? ...

Oh baumer, there's no shame in crying. Give your emotions free rein. Chicks go for it, or so i've heard.

Laurie Strode in Halloween: Resurrection.
The movie was shit, but that one scene was not only sad, but the fact that she kissed him was quite poetic.
Eric Stoltz death in Mask, gets me everytime.
Also Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was quite poetic.
