Apocalypse Now is very good, but, as I have said elsewhere in this thread, The Deer Hunter is the superior (and definitive) Vietnam film.

Re: Return of the All-Time Top 100 Movie List Thread (trixst the top 100 I posted five or so yrs ago is probably more like a top 175 or so now, and I'm definitely not gonna be scientific about cross checking with the actual top 100, but by a quick skim of his list I would estimate 27 matches of ~ 77 I have seen.
I also did yrs, inny, and came up with a ridiculously similar number of ~30 out of 79. so that's kinda weird.

In the meantime here are some stats:
Compared to all the lists already posted, here is the amount of movies I have seen from each list and the number of matches:
Flava’d: 100 – 20
Thegun: 99 – 19
Algren: 100 - 7
Magnus: 95 – 19
BJ: 100 – 16
Corpse: 87 – 7
David: 95 – 3
Inny Binny: 82 – 5
Riggs: 99 – 9
Trixster: 90 – 16
The list is compiled from a pool of 9,403 movies that I have seen as of yesterday, October 29th.
The oldest movie is from 1922 and the newest one from 2010. All decades in-between are represented.
25 movies are in B/W and 75 in Color.
In 14 movies the main language is not English.
At least 40 movies have not been mentioned before and I’m really, really surprised that no one has picked number 16 in any previous list as I think that movie is very popular. Maybe not top 20 material for others, but surprised it didn’t get a single mention.
48 directors are only mentioned once, so that leaves 52 movies for repeat offenders.
Have a feeling Magnus may be the one that likes the list the most, not at the beginning but when entering the top 40. Flava'd, Thegun, BJ, David and Riggs will like certain picks. Corpse and Inny Binny won't likely care. And Algren will hate it.
