I don't really think any of his films come close to days of heaven. they're basically all incredible, and the new world is definitely top two or three of 05 but it seems like odd film out to be ones favorite malick to me.

The New World has the most interesting and moving storyline. He always delivers visual beauty.

Days of Heaven and Lyndon are somewhat close to teh same spots they were on my list. Brilliant choices. 12 Monkeys also barely missed out on my list this time.

As for Solyaris...fuck it.

12 moneys barely missed for me as well.

sans soleil is probably too low by thirty or forty spots, but I'm incredibly glad to see it pop up.

Terrific to see the Terry G. love. 12 Monkeys was a top runner-up for me, and both Brazil and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas are on my list.

I am glad to see Barry Lyndon, too, of course, though I wish it were even higher.

I might be embarrassing myself here, but I have never heard of Picture of Light.

based on the research I did, that is, scanning the info on googles first page when I searched for the other film by that director with LSD in the name, I am pretty sure that's a pretty obscure Canadian director...at least I hadn't heard of him before this list, and I can't imagine there are many big directors I haven't heard of.

Nice to see the Gilliam love. Time Bandits is my personal favorite of his and just missed out on my top 100.

Time Bandits is a lot of fun, but I believe he improved later in his career, plateauing in the late 1990s. He lost a bit of creative momentum during the seven-year space between Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Brothers Grimm, but I still have a soft spot for his style and anticipate any new Gilliam film.

I should've said favorite solo direction. Holy Grail is in my top 25 so obviously I'd rank it over Bandits.

1. Holy Grail
2. Time Bandits
3. Baron Munchausen
4. 12 Monkeys
5. Brazil
6. Fear and Loathing

All are A- or above for me. How is Fisher King?

The Fisher King is great. Jeff Bridges and Robin Williams both deliver wonderful performances.

trixster sent in a list for my foreign-language poll. So if you want to reach a level of cool on par with trixster, you better send one in, too. Yes, you, you son of a bitch.
