Wow, I don't know how I could laugh at the ending. I was just shocked more then anything. It managed to be creepy as hell but not horrifically overdone (I'm looking at you Saw).

Wow. You have two of my favorite foreign films of all time on there (Audition and A Tale Of Two Sisters). Good job.
I agree about Battle Royale, though.

For me, It seemed to last for ages... after the hundred and one "kiri" we were laughing so much... The torture off screen was much more painful than the one on screen.
To this date, "Kiri, kiri, kiriiiiiiii" has become a private joke for me and my friend. It´s code for "Boring"

Is this the forum where I can dissect and discuss Dumb and Dumber?
Anyhow, Run Lola Run is in my top 10 movies of all time. You people picking it as overrated are on crack.
CTHD sucked donkey balls (the 4 hour love story flashback in the middle lost me), so great pick there.
I was expecting so much more from Amelie, but in the end it was just average and slightly boring.
Actually, the more I think about it, Run Lola Run is the only really good foreign movie ever made.

It has the tonal range, complexity, dialogue, aesthetic, and music of a two hour mtv video. About the only good thing in it was the highly stylixed shot run slow with What a Difference a Day Makes playing in the background. Finally, an indication of a life pulse outside of junkies trying to pay off the big hit.
Three words for you Tony: German Techno Musicvideo

Watch Infernal Affairs and you'll change your mind on that, I promise!

Aha! Music video is 2 words. I have proven your last statement to be false and rest my case.
I'll take highly stylized over substance any day. My favorite movies are about style... Matrix, Sin City, Underworld, Run Lola Run, Dark City ... screw substance! Who needs substance when I have pretty colors to look at and music to distract me?

I will do that. I just looked it up and see it's available on DVD. I'll let you know... but, if I don't like it.
I just remembered a few other foreign films I liked. I was on a Pedro Almodóvar/Penelope Cruz kick a while back and have a lot of their DVDs. I enjoyed a few of those, even if they were slightly girly. Just don't tell anyone. I'll deny it.
Oh, and I loved Snatch. Guy Ritchie is from England... that makes it foreign, right?

I dunno, England is in many ways less foreign than New York.
But Snatch was great. And yes I'd say that even if there wasn't a movie of that name. I thought it was better than Lock, Stock even though the conventional wisdom was that Lock was better.

You Will! Evene only because I tell you so.
Or not.
But they are great. If you like cop thrillers (i.e. your daily life) you'll like it.

Don't trust Lecter on foreign movies. He dislikes Run Lola Run and worships Downfall.

Levy's an employed movie reviewer. Enough of a reason not to trust him
