Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
When exactly are the nominations? Will they air live, and if so, what program?
As for gutsy predictions...
BP Star Trek and/or Bright Star and/or The Hangover
Actress Abbie Cornish Bright Star
Zoe Saldana will NOT be nominated for Avatar, though she deserves it.

Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
I still believe A Single Man will be nominated for Best Picture.
I would love to see Bright Star nominated for a couple awards.

Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
I would really like Avatar to be shut out of everything except visuals effects and the sound awards.

Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
I see Avatar leading with 10 nominations, while The Hurt Locker and Inglourious Basterds tie with 8. My gutsy calls would be White Ribbon in best picture and Blomkamp in best director.

Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
This happens every year, and they are usually wrong.
However, if you do a search on ABC news, you do find the articles they posted in that link and some others, sooooo. The only "surprise" there though is It's Complicated for BP. Does that also mean Meryl is in for BA for her role in it and not Julie and Julia?

Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
But have they happened like this before? These seem plausible, unfortunately. It would seem ABC is all ready with their articles announcing the winners, you just can't read them yet aside from the headlines. So it does indeed look like these are accurate.
If correct, IT'S COMPLICATED and THE HANGOVER are nominated for Best Picture.
Please, please do not let these be accurate. No (500) DAYS OF SUMMER for Best Picture? (Not like I'm expecting it, just hoping) Yet THE fucking HANGOVER is nominated?

Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
They put Penelope Cruz on the ballot for Nine. This is obviously a phony.

Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
I seriously doubt It's Complicated is nominated
I bet the website is preparing the articles for whatever comes up, but doesn't actually know the noms yet

Re: Official Oscar nominations countdown/party thread!
I sure hope you're right, but why would they even be prepared for IT'S COMPLICATED to be nominated for Best Picture? JULIE & JULIA and (500) DAYS OF SUMMER would seem to have better chances, and there's nothing for them.

About 15 min tes left.
I am hoping for a surprising nod for Neill Blomkamp over Eastwood and Daniels.
