What about Roberto Begnini? Certainly, his walk to the stage won't be forgotten, but as for himself...hmmm...

That I agree with. Pinocchio was infamously bad. He didn't deserve to that year either; Sir McKellen should've.

Some other names:

Juliette Binoche - hasn't capitalized on her win with The English Patient, but being a British actress not named Kate, it's hard to be that visible.
Cuba Gooding Jr. - Radio, Boat Trip, Snow Dogs...

Juliette isn't British, she's French. And she just did Chocolat with Depp. She's probably the biggest French import aside from Delpy and now Tatou is sneaking up on the two. She's like the Julia Roberts of France. She does alot of Romcoms like Couch in New York (that movie sucked) and just did Jet Lag with Jean Reno.

I thought Jack Black was doing it? Sorry, I have not been ontop of King Kong at all. I never pay that close attention to movies until the add-campaigns start, etc...this one isn't even filming yet is it? Who's the woman? Did Watts get the role?

Sorry about the mixup with her nationality. Chocolat is already 4-year old though, and that's not a big movie. It's probably not her focus, but she hasn't broken into the U.S. as some of the other European and Australian actresses have.

Binoche is already getting early Oscar buzz for Bee Season. She could be a nominee this next year.

Didn't it make around 70 million at the box office? Plus, she was nominated for Best Actress that year. She hasn't really done anything since, though.

Yeah Watts stars in it. So do Brody and Black ;)

Jack Black is really only the supporting role. Watts and Brody are the primary 2.
