I'm interested in the Song category. I am rooting for a Team America song to make it.

Every other year, I'd say one of the acting categories.

This year, I'd say Best Picture. It seems truly up in the air between The Aviator, Million Dollar Baby and Sideways.

Always Best Actress. I much prefer actresses to actors because they bring not only more charisma to the screen, but sex appeal and elegance which always makes award ceremonies their nights.

Probably the supporting categories. Last year, we basicly knew who was going to win, but this year it's up in the air. Actually, come to think of it, we knew almost all the wins last year, while quite a few are open still this year. Actress, Supporting Actor and Actress, some techs as well as maybe Picture. I still think The Aviator will get it, but stranger things have happened.

Well since we know the top 3 nominees for Picture already and the fact that no other film will win it besides 1 of those three, I could care less about the nods for Best Picture.

Also, there seems to be about 3-4 loocks in each category now, so there's not much debate over an entire category.
That said, I'll go with Best Actress, just cuz personally I have alot at stake in that category with Uma and Delpy being my favorites of the year and one of them actually having a chance.

The Best Actor nod race may actually be more interesting, but you know who the winner is, so it kinda doesn't matter, plus I don't have much invested in alot of the contenders in that category.

And also Best Adapted Screenplay (rooting for Sunset)

Editing. Because the one that wins that usually wins the big prizes too. :)

Well, usually I don't follow that closely the bigger awards, like Picture or acting. (except last year, in which I invested heavily into Supporting Actor....that was an insanely awesome race last year). This year (and most other years) I seem contented in tracking some of the other awards....notably Screenplay (both), Score, VFX, Sound, Sound Editing, Film Editing, and Cinematogrophy. I don't nearly follow any of them to the extent of some people on these boards, who even treat them as secondary to the main races (which they are). I'm juts saying the my level of devotion isn't all that high.

Picture is looking most interesting this year, but every other year we normally see the usual 'this one's gonna win, but this one has a chance of sneaking in.'

Acting categories are always fun, too. Especially the supporting ones, where little surprises are thrown in every year.

Screenplay has been especially interesting over the past couple years, though. It's almost become the "yeah, we know these films are good and should probably be rewarded more, but this'll do" category.

Believe it or not, the only and I mean ONLY categories I care about come nominations are Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Before Sunset's nomination or failure to garner a nod in either of those will make it or break it for me.
Also rooting for Uma in Best Actress.

I could care less about any of the other nominations.

And after I get over their exclusion (give me about 2-3 weeks time) then I'll get into the predicting the winners mode and tell you which categories mean the most to me or are the most interesting.

Bland for Score. Didn't even include The Incredibles. Harry Potter better win it, or I'll sue them. Only other movie with a score as good was The Passion, and the Hollywood politics may stop voters from voting for it (although that didn't stop them from nominating it).

I haven't seen Lemony Snicket, though, and have only heard about a quarter of the score.

As it is a no-brainer that Hilary Swank is going to win the Best Actress - \:D/ =D> \:D/ =D> \:D/ =D> \:D/ =D> \:D/ =D> Look everyone has started to celebrate.

I have to say Best Actor, if Leo has any chance to steal / rob Jamie Foxx.

I guess the actress ones are most interesting to me because with so limited roles for women, the awards tend to really get people noticed and make stars.
