Yay! If Levy wins, then that means I might get second with my 336 score, or third, depending if someone just beats me. Either way, I'm happy! Top 3 is awesome for me.

PEACE, Mike ;)

PEACE, Mike ;)

I got exactly the same, maybe in the end my head DOES work correctly

WRONG. He got another minus 3 for missing a snubbed film. His total is indeed 325.

Man, am I the ONLY person who can count!?!

lol. ;)

PEACE, Mike ;)

I thought we had agrees that no points were taken away fror NOT predicting a a snubbed film.

*sigh*

I mean..it only makes sense right?

If, for exampple, The Terminal was snubbed, but I didn't include it as part of my list of films that I thought would be snubbed....by not predicting it I lose my chance at gaining 3 points. So then you also have 3 points TAKEN AWAY. It's like receiving a double penalty?

You should have made that clear in the original post

I predicted Fahrenheit 9/11 wouldn't be snubbed, but it was, shouldn't 3 points more be taken away?

OK here's my calculations:

1. Predict the 5 Best Picture nominees (10 points each)
Aviator 10
Finding Neverland 10
Million Dollar Baby 10
Ray 10
Sideways 10

2. Predict the 5 Best Director Nominees (10 points each)
Eastwood 10
Forster
Nicols
Payne 10
Scorcese 10

3. Predict the 5 Best Actress Nominees (Again, specify which movie they'll be nominated for) (10 points each)
Bening 10
Moreno 10
Staunton 10
Swank 10
Winslet (Sunshine) 10

4. Predict the 5 Best Actor Nominees (10 Points each)
Cheadle 10
Depp 10
DiCaprio 10
Foxx 10
Giamatti

5. Predict the 5 Best Original Screenplay nominees (6 points each)
Aviator 6
Eternal Sunshine 6
Hotel Rwanda 6
Kinsey
Ray

6. Predict the 5 Best Adapted Screenplay nominees (6 points each)
Closer
Finding Neverland 6
Million Dollar Baby 6
Motorcycle Diaries 6
Sideways 6

7. Predict EITHER the 5 best supporting actor nominees OR the 5 best supporting actress nominees (7 points each)
Carradine
Church 7
Foxx 7
Freeman 7
Owen 7

8. Predict the 3 Best Animated Film Nominees (5 points each)
Incredibles 5
Polar Express
Shrek 2 5

9. Predict EITHER the 3 Best Visual Effects Nominees OR the 5 Best Foreign Movie nominees (the foreing movies are 5 and therefore harder to predict, but you can win points here) (5 points each)
Harry Potter 5
Sky Captain
Spider-man 2 5

10. Predict any other 3 categories you want. (worth up to 5 points each) (Note: In questions 7/9 you are asked to predict only either best supporting actor OR actress and either Best Foreign Movie or Best Visual Effects. If you, for example choose Actor and Foreign Movies, you can still predict the Best Supporting Actress and Best Visual Effects nominees here) (5 points each)

Supporting Actress:
Blanchett 5
Linney 5
Madsen 5
Streep
Winslet (Neverland)

Art Direction:
Aviator 5
Eternal Sunshine
Finding Neverland 5
Lemony Snicket 5
Phantom of the Opera 5

Cinematography:
Aviator 5
Collateral
Finding Neverland
Passion 5
Ray

Bonus Questions:

1. What will be the most nominated movie? (5 points)

Aviator 5

Tie Breaker:

How many nominations will the most nominated movie receive?

9

2. What will be the most nominated studio? (7 points)

Mirimax 7
Tie Breaker:

How many nominations will that studio receive?

15

4. How many of the oscar nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress will be first-time nominees? (4 points)

8 (If Foxx gets nominated twice, I was only counting him once!)

4. Which of the following movies will be completely snubbed by the Academy: (3 points each)

Fahrenheit 9/11 3
Troy 3
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason 3
A Very Long Engagement
The Merchant of Venice 3
The Terminal 3
Napoleon Dynamite 3
I, Robot

I get 335. Can someone check? Did I get something wrong in my calculations?

Hey Mike,

Yeah, in the last question, you get 3 points for every film you accurately predicted to be snubbed. But then you lose 3 points for every film you guess to be snubbed, but was NOT snubbed, and for every film that was snubbed on the list, but you didn't predict to be snubbed. Get it? That's why your score ends up being lower.

PEACE, Mike ;)

You have 306 pts. because everyone gets points substracted if you didn't predict a movie to be snubbed that was snubbed in the end.
