Is it me or is the Batman Begins score simply awesome  , it was one of the best parts of an already fantastic movie  .........i really think it's worthy of a nomination

Created by both Hanz Zimmer and James Newton Howard, two powerhouse names.....it's a really strong, taught and emotionally resonant score. My favourite would have to be the cave scene where the bats circle Bruce Wayne......delicous music.

Do have a listen here (especially Track 7 Macrotus, awesome):

It's not great, it's rather average as far as scores go. Howard has done much better work recently (The Village) and Zimmer... There is no noteworthy themes to cling on to. It pales in comparison to Elfman's Batman work, which sadly was never nominated either.

And it may not be eligable.

Quote:
5. Only the principal composer(s) or song writer(s) responsible for the conception and execution of the work as a whole shall be eligible for an award. This expressly excludes from eligibility all of the following:

(f) scores assembled from the music of more than one composer.

The running strings in the first and 2nd track, Vespertilio and Eeptesicus, could be seen as a semi-theme IMO, though i get what you mean......with drums and strings everywhere, there's really no major constant...

The string movement in Matrocus is awesome and i think its better than anything in The Village...but that's just me, i love the movie and perhaps my judgement is clouded

About the eligibility, i think its absurd that they wouldn't allow collaborations......i mean its not like they are reusing music :???:

:???: I never noticed the score. It did its job showing emotion, but there wasn't anything too spectacular about it.

I'm still mad that The Village didn't win last year.

begins really had 2 themes playing throughout it. the soundtrack i thought was pretty good but on the whole, lacked in the form of variety. it won't be nominated for anything.
