This didn't bother me as an error or plot hole (it is explained as plain as day), but it bothered me because it is just a really lazy, convenient explanation for it, which is why I mentioned it in my review and why I said the script is bad.

Re: Wonder Woman
I don't get the praise either. This was far too predictable, too similar to the first Captain America film, and had Gal Gadot whining every other line. She really can't act.
Oh, and that boss fight at the end was terrible.

I quite enjoyed this. The two anchors, Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, were very good, especially Wigg. McKinnon was annoying as hell and not funny in the slightest (she should be dropped from any sequel). And Leslie Jones was also present (surprisingly not too irritating). The cameos worked well, and I for one loved seeing them (apart from Weaver, by which point it seemed like overkill and was pretty lame as a cameo anyway). Chris Hemsworth steals the show here. He was the cause of 90% of the humour, which is embarrassing when you've got so many actual comedians in the film! But who cares. I can't say "the film was a blast", but it was at least a pleasant surprise. I don't have any nostalgic bias towards the original Ghostbusters films, which made it easier for me to swallow this remake/reboot.
The effects are superb, the film nips along at a really digestible pace, each character is written well enough that they stand out as having their own personality (even if it is somewhat copied from the male Ghostbusters), and it even has some jumpy scenes. All in all, not a bad remake/reboot.
B Good try, smart ass. But I never said they were funny. They were just there having no impact whatsoever. Meanwhile, Hemsworth who is in the film for probably 20 minutes, is responsible for 90 percent of the humor. B it is! Who knew you were that easy to please?

Honestly, if you rate Suicide Squad higher than this, I think you have brain damage. (And I LIKE Suicide Squad!)
Anyway...
1. Wonder Woman (A) 2. Man of Steel (A) 3. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (B/B+) 4. Suicide Squad (B-)

Re: Wonder Woman
Suicide Squad is a fucking mess, but yes I would honestly rather watch that again than this. At least I can get some good entertainment out of it with the Deadshot/Harley Quinn stuff. This on the other hand I got really no enjoyment out of what so ever and that's what makes it a worse movie IMO. People can disagree all they want and that's fine, but this movie is far from perfect and just because it's not dark and gloomy shouldn't be the reason it's getting the pass.

Yep, millions and millions of people are "giving it a pass". Solid logic.

Well how else would you explain more people not complaining about the shitty villains or that lame third act/final fight? The Marvel movies get plenty of shit for their weak villains yet people seem to just overlook it here. It's not even that I'm really mad at general audiences either because I can see why they would like it, but critics not addressing it all is what bothers me the most.

That is the complaint in almost EVERY review that I read. Marvel gets great reviews despite poor villains EVERY FILM. It's literally overlooked ALL THE TIME.

Re: Wonder Woman
Yes, I want a great villain. And DC tends to have that usually. No, Ares isn't great in this. But he was better than Doomsday. And he wasn't nearly as campy as most CBM villains, despite him being a Greek God.

The villains of WW are definitely a flaw of the film but people are acting as if this is some strange thing when it literally occurs in 99% of MCU films (and Fox's Marvels films...and other DC films that don't have Batman). Okay and I can understand that if the movie was better, but it's not and the truth is I found these villains to be a million times worse than any of the villains from the MCU films. I mean you have a fucking scene where they kill a bunch of people in a room with poisonous gas and laugh about it like some shit straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon. Now, unless I'm crazy I don't remember seeing anything that bad from any Marvel movie, but you guys would probably know better than me.

I only rank Suicide Squad slightly higher; but it's got a better sound track and has a bit of wacky goodness. I'd say the Deadshot on a car scene isn't worse than Wonder Woman in No Man's land.
