Here are 20 examples in the past year, where Mr. White's opinion diverged from mine:

But John Wick: Chapter Two is a creative, original, and thought-provoking masterpiece. ;)

Well John Wick is no Magnolia and sure The Great Wall has an original story with creative elements, the way it's told, it's development felt very unoriginal.

I don't too much disagree with Ruby Rose, that John Wick is somewhere "never seen before" and then I'm just referring to the overall feel of the stylish action film it is. Chapter 2 is more of that the same, surely you can't use "never seen before" for the sequel. I haven't seen The Raid though which is being mentioned as one of the best actioners of this decade so I can't say how that stacks up to John Wick.

Back to The Great Wall, there was also this scene at the end where Tovar and Dafoe are taking things from the armory, Damon catches them and Tovar and Dafoe escape by dropping a bag of bricks or something on him. I thought that was a very dumb sequence. I just had a very hard time liking this film as I felt uninspired by almost all of it.

And just how did John Wick: Chapter Two inspire you?

Funny how you overlook the dumb stuff in John Wick: Chapter Two but exaggerate them for The Great Wall.

Headshots are awesome, it has a great score (although it felt more pulsating in the first one) and may it be Keanu or just simply the action the film had a way of drawing me in that I wanted to know what would happen next. With The Great Wall I checked out somewhere in the first half and it didn't pull me back in anymore. John Wick might be dumb but I found it very engaging, whereas The Great Wall lacks a good character, Damon is actually a bit of an asshole from the start whom I didn't warm too. Which is probably how you feel about his character in the Martian if I remember well.

So, does John Wick: Chapter Two have good characters?

Mainly John Wick himself, the rest while good doesn't particularly stand out either, that said Ruby Rose, Common, the Manager all please me more with their presence than anyone in The Great Wall. I'd choose Dafoe over Fishburne in the past-their-prime battle though.

John Wick isn't a good character. Such a plain, formulaic movie assassin. And Ruby Rose and Common. lol. Ok. Let's end it there.

I must have missed this, but dude, the KJ consensus and the critical consensus are the same thing. KJ is filled with so many flavourless members (Libs, publicenemy#1 etc.) that nod along in agreement at whatever Rotten Tomatoes deems fresh or rotten.

Watched this last night and surprisingly I enjoyed it for the most part, but holy shit was that accent for Damon a terrible choice. That automatically brought the movie down a point for me, but I did like his character, eventhough he looked so out of place in this. All that being said I loved the look of this movie, especially the lavish production design and the action sequences were very entertaining, although nothing topped that first battle.

The supporting characters were all serviceable and nothing more which is pretty much what I expect for most monster movies. I didn't really care for the creature designs themselves though.

I received the Art From the Film book two days ago. Fantastic book with gold-edged pages, lots of different textures and materials as pages. It feels old. I love the attention to detail that went into it.

Matt Damon's face was one of the least artful aspects of The Great Wall - it's too bad they didn't feature the costumes more prominently on the cover.

Inside it is very artistic. Different textures and materials. Plastic transparent pages. It's really lovely. I haven't had time to read it yet, but I will. Might make a weekend of it and watch The Great Wall again before reading it.
