I feel Stan Lee is stealing some credit from other people and making it seem like he is the be all and in all of the Marvel Universe. See also: Kane, Bob.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Nice movie. Probably the best Marvel movie in at least 6 years, including Avengers. The action is very good, the story is quite interesting.
The fact that Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, and Captain America are all in the same universe poses problem, though. The villain is a guy with a strong metal arm....... okay. Somebody call Hulk or Thor, or even Iron Man, and we won't have to see Captain doing all those martial arts tricks.
As with all MCU movies, it's best not to give this too much thought.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
This was solid, but considering all the great reviews I was honestly expecting more. It might be the best MCU sequel so far, but it ain't no IM as far as solo movies go.
Also, for a movie with TWS in the title it seemed like he was barely in the movie at all. Pretty much all of his scenes are in the trailers/tv spots.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Another very solid entry for Marvel, but they once again fall short of making a "great" film. Every time I finish watching any of their films, I feel that they could have done something simple to propel it above the B-range territory.
(B+) The Avengers (B) Captain America: The Winter Soldier (B) Thor: The Dark World (B) Thor (B) Iron Man (B-) Captain America: The First Avenger (C+) Iron Man 3 (C) Iron Man 2 (C-) The Incredible Hulk

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Wow watching this compared to the first is like going from Harry Potter 1 right to Harry Potter 7. Everything about this film is better than the cheesier, poorly acted original. I'll admit I saw the first again for a second time and I liked it more, but it's still way too much of a rip off of other films, and is in the B area for me. But everything that did work for the first film is on display here and expanded on. Evans finally delivers a solid, leading man performance and is surrounded once again by great supporting actors, including the obvious Johanson and Jackson, but more so by Mackie, Redford, and again Jones. The action in here is also quite impressive, and quite violent. Although there is little blood, I was surprised by amount of death in the film, which was a nice surprise, especially after Avengers, IM3 and Thor all having little to no human casualties. The story was interesting, and unlike Iron Man 2 this film is a nice stand alone but also plays perfectly into the next Avengers film.
PS, I understand the criticism on why can't Thor or IM help. I word of dialogue could help, but really this film takes course over 2 days almost, and I'm sure someone like Tony Stark would be under surveillance by Shield, or is dealing with Mandarin in LA. Thor lives on another planet so I doubt CA could call him at the drop of the hat (Even if he was in London saving the Universe at the same time) and the Hulk doesn't want to be found at the moment. If you really just assume that IM3, Thor, and CA2 are all happening at the same time, it's really a non issue.
Once again, the plot is Comic Book at it's best (Meaning simple here's what you have to do and we do it) but it's just one hell of an entertaining ride. I'll need to see it again to see how it goes with the rest but as of now.
A+
My list:
Iron Man A+ The Avengers A+ Iron Man 3 A+ CA: The WInter Soldier A+ Thor A The Incredible Hulk A Thor: The Dark World B+ Iron Man 2 B+ Captain America: The First Avenger B-

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The first half momentum and cool action set pieces are ruined in the second half by cowardly, generic screenwriting which left me constantly rolling my eyes and begging for the flick to end.
A superhero movie with no real villain is always going to be a sad experience, but that's what Captain America: Part Deux is. Robert Redford is pathetic, Samual L. Jackson, while cool in the beginning with his problem-solving car, should have stayed dead for this film to be worth remembering, and Scarlett Johannson is just pretty bland when seen in motion. Chris Evans is about the only one that seemed believeable and that wanted to be in the movie. The black bird guy was also pretty silly.
Yet again, an Avengers spin-off movie suffers from the absence of the other heroes. When SHIELD is under threat and might never be operational again, I think its main heroes would definitey step up and help Captain America.
Such a step down from the first.

I thought "The Air Conditioning is completely functional" was my favorite joke. It was nice to see Sam Jackson actually step out and have fun despite him really just going into vintage Jackson mode. I think that was my favorite action scene as well.
