Men in Black
Men in BlackQuote: Men in Black is a 1997 science fiction comedy film directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, starring Tommy Lee Jones, Will Smith and Vincent D'Onofrio. The film was based on the Men in Black comic book series by Lowell Cunningham, originally published by Aircel Comics. The film featured the creature effects and makeup of Rick Baker. The film was released on July 2, 1997 by Columbia Pictures and grossed over $587 million worldwide against a $90 million budget. It was followed by a 2002 sequel, Men in Black II, an animated series titled Men in Black: The Series as well as a second sequel that will be released in 2012, Men in Black III. Great entertainment. This is one of the most fun movies I have ever seen. Right in the vein of Ghostbusters, it is not any worse than it. Very original and witty-written, this movie is an instant classic of the sci-fi comedy genre. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones represent one of the best on-screen buddy teams and have great chemistry. The movie is funny, quotable, has enough action, is very imaginative and it is also very fast-paced. What else can you wish from a summer popcorn flick. This is entertainment at its best and it is without a doubt in my all-time Top 50.

Decent but mostly unspectacular. The plot was far from "great" and some of the writing was just a little too cheesy. The visuals were decent but nothing groundbreaking. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith certainly have great chemistry but that alone wasn't enough to save the movie.

After many sci-fi movies the past years, Men in Black still holds up as the best. I think it's always been underrated in all-time lists and such. The characters are just so funny, from Jones and Smith, to the boring woman and crazy alien guy (forgot his name). Oh, and also the talking pug!! The story's brilliant as well as the visuals. One of the great comedies in the vein of Beetlejuice and Ghostbusters.

Phenomenal movie. A great Sci Fi/Comedy/Action movie. Smith is great as he is most movies, and Jones does a great job also. In my top 20. A+

Very enjoyable, entertaining flick. An interesting concept and an appropriately simple, yet effective, story. Some cool visuals and great chemistry between the leads. Still makes me laugh after multiple viewings. Always fun to watch.

Plus Points
Smith and Jones are the perfect double team
Continously funny and inventive
One of the best example's of how to do a summer blockbuster right.
Rip Torn's trademark grumpy edge
Minus Points
Um..............Linda Forentino was a bit boring, can't think of much else.

I remember Kevin Smith commenting, in retrospect, on how much better Janeane Garofalo would've been as Bethany in Dogma. And I'm beginning to think that's an observation that applies to every one of Fiorentino's films. I mean, how much better would Garofalo have been in Men In Black? Lots much better, that's how.
And just imagine Garofalo using her feminine wiles to seduce Peter Berg in The Last Seduction. Woof!

I'd agree for Dogma she was a damp squib in that movie. In The Last Seduction thou, Linda certainly gets a thumbs up from me.

A complete blast and one of the stronger action entries of the '90s. Incredibly entertaining and a lot of fun to watch.

Love this movie so much. One of my favorite childhood movies, and it still holds up surprisingly well.
