Like how last year I asked what will be the Itallian Job, and it ended up to be Collateral. what I mean is a movie with a relitively okay opening that will go on to do better.
2002: Bourne Identiy
2003: Itallian Job
2004: Collateral
2005: ???

Does Batman Begins count?

It's gonna end a little higher than most of what you named.

Otherwise maybe red eye?

Red Eye is what some one said on BOM also, scary isnt it ;)

anyway batman does not count, I would say Mr and Mrs smith if it didnt open so huge.

Or to better put it on its way to 100.

I can't picture either of those making 100.

Maybe The Island, mostly because I dont see it opening huge, but maybe legs will be good enough to get it a bit passed 100m.

Yeah The Island sounds like a good bet.
Possibly Stealth even?

I think it will be The Brothers Grimm. That hasn't been talked about much...

Yup, I have a feeling both will open with the similar amount, it all just depends which one will have better legs.

I think Red Eye could be it. Both Stealth and The Island seem like too big of openers (30 mil. plus) to qualify. Collateral opened to around 24 million and Red Eye could get anywhere from 14-25 million, depending on marketing.

Michael Bay's last 4 movies opened over 25 million. The Rock would of opened close to 40 million too using today's number
I dont see anything real small about The Island's opening, nothing under 35 million I see

Stealth's predictions are way too high though. I cant see it opening over 40 million

From what I heard from the Ring 2 that the trailer for red eye was not liked.
and that it has not been having good screenings. (same thing with skeleton key)

Well his other movies were more appealing to the general audience, they were more obvious hits. This looks like a mixed bag. Will see, but uh im gonna be right and you're gonna be wrong thats all there is to say really.

A great point was made on BOM that The Island is very likely to make 30+ on its opening weekend so it really cant be considered a collateral of this year.

Red Eye. I could see this movie getting a nice $20-25 million opening weekend and finish with over $80 million.

Maybe the Bad News Bears, depending on if they make it a kids film or target it to adults. If it's foul mouthed and adult oriented then that might do it.

Isn't it rated PG-13?

Red Eye's new extended trailer makes the film look fantastic (and a bit of a departure for director Wes Craven). Definitely looks better than Jodie Foster's Flightplan and looks certain to be a hit.

Maybe not 100 but it could make 50 which would be a success for it.
