Iffy: Flight Plan, Red Eye

What about Doom? Any word on it? That looks like it's going to turn into another Punisher.

I think we might see our late-summer adult-action flick performances from other films closer to a fall release. Maybe Domino.

I think it's gonna be RED EYE if anything.

As we get closer to its release date, I'm seeing an above $20m opening for Red Eye.
the only thing hurting it's chances to have great legs is its late release date; soon after its release, the box office will freeze over like every year!

Like how last year I asked what will be the Itallian Job, and it ended up to be Collateral. what I mean is a movie with a relitively okay opening that will go on to do better.
2002: Bourne Identiy
2003: Itallian Job
2004: Collateral
2005: ???

Walk the Line. Its going to reach an unexpected 100 million.

I think Red Eye is going to be a leggy late August hit (like Without a Paddle last year).

I think a gross of $60-70M sounds good.

Well this summers collateral turned out to be an unlikely film, 40 Year old Virgin!

Red Eye. I could see this movie getting a nice $20-25 million opening weekend and finish with over $80 million.

Good choice, wrong numbers.

I don't really consider Red Eye to be this year's Collateral. It most likely won't finish with a multiplier of 4.

Flightplan has a fair chance at being this year's Collateral.

Who says? To achieve a multiplier of 4, Red Eye only needs to make $19M more. Considering it was at over $9M over the long weekend, you don't think it can do that?

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/ch ... =37&p=.htm

From all it seems it'll drop at least 45% next weekend to around $4 million. The summer weekdays are over. After the next weekend, it'll stand at around $50-51 million, the weekend after that at just above $54 million. It shoulds finish with the multiplier of 3.7 or 3.8, ESPECIALLY with Flightplan and Emily Rose coming up as direct competitors.
