Companion has a 10m budget and RT audience score is good so think it could do some decent #s for the next couple of weeks.

One of Them Days possibly pulling off $50M from a $11.8M inflated MLK weekend is pretty amazing. It's looking like it could pull off possibly better than a 25% drop. Crazy weekday drops of -7.1%, -14.7% and -25.5% so people seem to like it. It could pull off a 4.5X multiplier.

When I thought Dog Man was just some original movie it looked like a lame also-ran animated, but having the graphic novel fans meant everything obviously.

The graphic novel is actually hilarious, picked it up this week. Can see why it’s doing well.

Companion is disappointing though. Hope it can have one of those crazy horror multiples like Smile or Talk to Meand do over 50m

Mufasa legs have been very impressive even for a holiday family film. Especially with less than glowing reviews. It will come close to matching Night at the Museums multiple

This is crazy, and no wonder Hollywood doesn't make more original films. When they do they make $4m opening day compared to Dog Man's $10m.

Really impressed Dog Man is the biggest non sequel animated opening post pandemic. Dreamworks holds number 1 and 2 with this and Wild Robot.

Hope Pixar can get on the board with a 30m+ debut for Elio after Elemental missed.

The Dog Man books have been really popular for a few years now, each book sells over a million copies and the series is over 60 million WW, so it's cool to see the young fans coming out. They can certainly make this into a multi film franchise (there are twelve books right now).

DreamWorks should probably move forward with adapting Cat Kid (spinoff series) too.

Don't remember seeing a -91% Monday drop like Dog Man's before. 10 million Sunday 870k Monday! It did rebound a bit on Tuesday with 1.8.

I feel like it's just because it's a kids movie, though the drop is a bit bigger than most. On Monday, Mufasa, Sonic, and Moana 2 all dropped 83%. Moana 2 also dropped 83% on its first Monday. It's a bit peculiar that they all dropped 83%, but that's besides the point.

Watched first Ne Zha. It was mostly basic, but I also kinda understand how it would turn into their Avatar.

Ne Zha 2 run is absolute nuts. Now Maoyan is predicting 10.5B Yuan finish. Almost 1.5B USD. its not just taking the biggest single market BO run but its going to be the biggest movie in terms of admits as well(150m admits). Well ahead of any modern movie(Titanic sold around 130 million admits). it will hit $1B by Saturday at worst!!!

Holy shit.

Maybe they could do an American remake?
