 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
Both Kraven and LOTR have awful PS. almost nothing at all at this point. I am thinking low double digits or low teens for Kraven and high single digits for LOTR.

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
I thought Moana and Wicked would be closer this weekend. Can’t imagine Moana isn’t number 1 again now.
I do think Wicked will pass it before Christmas on the weekends though and stay ahead on weekdays

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
Wicked can probably stay ahead even over the holiday weekends. The two animated movies will hurt Moana more, and there’s the sing along coming out which should provide a boost

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
Lmfao how did they manage a film with worse reviews than Venom 3?
Pretty meh reviews for War of the Rohhirim too but I'll still see it.
Also, my local (smallish) theater did the thing again where they had Queer showtimes up for Friday, but then took them away in favor of giving extra showtimes to Wicked and Moana. Another flop. But the good news is that Challengers is back in the oscar race!

The only reason WOTR was made was so wb didnt lose the rights to the movie franchise. Look for it to be on Max by next month.

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
It didn’t look like it resembled the vibe of LOTR at all and nobody cares about that character. Just make it about younger Gandalf and Saruman or something.

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
I don't think this weekend's openers deserve their own thread so putting Friday updates here.
Empire: $4-6M weekend for LOTR. Kraven $10M-14M
DHD: Moana $6M / $26M -49% / $336.9M by Sunday Wicked $5.3M / $20.5M -44% / $357M by Sunday Kraven $4.7M / $12-13M Gladiator II $2.1M / $7.6M -40% / $145.7M LOTR $2M+ / $5M-6M

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
Empire is saying Kraven could go as low as 10m and LOTR at 4-6m OW. Still holdovers are doing that great. Is it due to loss of PLF.

Theaters should take premium screens away from Kraven for the rest of the weekend.

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
Interstellar (honestly the only interesting #) $990,000 -28% 321 $197,474,083
Just $2.5M away from $200M. I don't count Sing/Sing 2 as animated film ensembles, but interestingly Matthew McConaughey only ever had 1 $120M+ film at the box office and that was Interstellar. So it will become his first and only $200M+ live action.

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
You could see Kraven bombing from space
ATJ's main asset is he's good looking so maybe make some movies in the one of the genres where women fall for him? Idk crazy idea...

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
Filming was done by June 2022 2.5 years ago! Here were it's previous release dates: January 13, 2023 then October 6, 2023 then August 30, 2024 before a release of Dec. 13, 2024. After all that wait it will skimp to $12-14M off of a $110M+ (possibly $130M) budget. Won't even cover marketing. Also WB released a LOTR film to $5M and wouldn't release a critically acclaimed potential last film of Clint Eastwood wide or the Looney Tunes movie?

WB is so dumb. Would be hilarious if Superman does less than Man of Steel #s.

Kraven being a bomb is hilarious. LotR not so much. The 2020s have not been good to the franchise.

DC movies are in dumps and generally there is fatigue on SH movies despite occassional uber break out like Deadpool and Wolverine. Even if its good I am skeptical it will beat MoS. That released after Nolan trilogy and we did not have this many SH movies back then. Nolan himself produced MoS back then.

 Re: December 13-15 Predictions
I didn't feel too great about taking Superman 5th overall in the draft but I wasn't going to take Jurassic World or Captain America over it. I guess on the brightside how many meh Superman attempts can they make in a row before one has to connect?
