 Incredibles 3 predictions
Just announced at D23.
Probably won't open to more than 2 but should still open to 150m+.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
It’ll decrease but still do 450+.
I wouldn’t be shocked if it went as low as 130m ish. After 2 sucked no one really wants this but it’s a strong enough brand it’ll still be big.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
The second film was terrible so not so sure. Probably $350m-ish unless it redeems the franchise.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
I hated Incredibles 2: on its own it’s a mid film, but as a long awaited sequel to my favorite animated movie it was really disappointing. However, the audience reception was really strong: it got an A+ cinemascore (Pixar has only two in the last 15 years) , post trak OW scores were 83% definite recommend, 94% positive, 5 stars (Inside Out 2 for example got 89% positive, 71% definite recommend, so fairly worse reception). With that being said, I think inflation will counteract some of the waning demand (which there will be less of since it’s a shorter wait than it was for the second movie), so I’d peg opening weekend at 195-210m

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
I loved Incredibles 2 when I saw it in theaters, but it’s fallen off a cliff in my esteem since. I don’t think I’m alone in that. So while I’ll see a third one, I wouldn’t be surprised by a significant dropoff (maybe $130-$150m opening)

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
It wouldn't be surprising to anyone if I3 is more liked than the second one, but 600m is hard to beat.

There won't be the same pent-up demand, but I can't imagine less than $450m at any rate.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
No problems with the 2nd one, obviously my taste towards animated films has changed in that two decades but very well made. I remember a lot of forum people just bitching because Elasti-girl was the main character in that one and had all the "woke" trolls at the time. Kids and general audiences didn't give a shit.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
Incredibles 2 is perplexing because it is obviously divisive but also the most uncelebrated uber $500m+ grosser ever. It kind of just happened and was then forgotten.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
The original us so good, but the sequel was a real step down. I think I3 will do really well because people still remember the original fondly.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
You guys are way overthinking based on nostalgia. If the Toy Story franchise were to drop to Frozen or Monsters University Quality, sure the franchise wouldn't be as beloved, but it's still high tier quality of film. And Incredibles 2 was better than both of their sequels even they stayed closer in quality to their predecessor.
Still 97 to 93% RT, 8.0 to 7.5 IMDB, it's not like Incredibles 2 was Shrek 3 or 4. It's more the drop off of ROTJ to ESB.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
I'd have Incredibles 2 as the best Pixar sequel/prequel outside of the Toy Story franchise. Not sure how/why it gained such a pitiful reputation.

 Re: Incredibles 3 predictions
lol who cares, even though critically their practically identical, comes down to taste. something flashes enough to a toddler to distract their attention, it becomes their new favorite film. Comparing quality of animated films is like comparing concerts while blackout drunk. Incredibles has enough adult humor parents can stand them more than most.

Incredibles 2 is great and the hype for this will be insane.
