Re: May 10-12 Predictions This seems like a candidate to be kind of a Godzilla vs Kong or Transformers One where it's uncool with internet audiences but ends up bigger than you expect. Not sure if being built around a female human this time would turn off the masculine bro type viewers though.
I was surprised to see it's been 7 years since the last one, I just assumed they made one every 2 or 3 years.

Re: May 10-12 Predictions Apes feels like Transformets last summer to me where it’s a franchise people think is dead but we haven’t had one in a while and it has its fans so since it’s not a superhero movie it overperforms.

01: $69M ($136M)
11: $55M ($77M)
14: $73M ($100M)
17: $56M ($70M)
I lowballed in the contest but if this disappoints next weekend I'd say that's more troubling than Fall Guy. It's been such a reliable franchise.
Lots of apes this past month though with Monkey Man, GvsK and the new apes movie. Maybe the whole AMC apes association will help it out but we should have a better weekend next week.
All 4 of the last POTA movies now adjust to $70M+ so a surprise on the upside past GvsK wouldn't be outside of precedent.

Re: May 10-12 Predictions Unfortunately its not looking like a breakout for now. Let us see how the final week goes. For now seeing OW close to 40m than a big breakout.

Re: May 10-12 Predictions Was thinking 35-45 million opening after seeing trailer, but this year has been kind to non-superhero IP so far and maybe thats another to push it over $50M.

Re: May 10-12 Predictions Thinking around 6m ish previews including early shows and around 4.5m ish for just thursday. Should have a good multi and so I am expecting around 45m OW. Walkups today were solid for early shows.
