Is this a romcom...? The trailer makes it seem like a thriller.

Yeah it's not a rom-com. No way it makes even $20m let alone $100m

It seems like it could build buzz on Twitter but Guadgnino making a mainstream hit would be weird.

I think it will be a hit but more in the $50-$60m range.

Same, it's been a while since an original RomCom did as well as Anyone But You will do, and it's been even longer still since a dramatic romance has cracked $100M...not even sure what the last one was? But we have so few of those these days in theaters that any total above $30M should be considered a success. I think Don'T Worry, Darling provides the bst precedent for this, also an R-rated drama aimed at young women, but hopefully this one is better and more compelling.

I would say not a chance. I do think it looks great though.

Don't Worry Darling is an interesting and apt comparison. It had a fair bit of hype/buzz too - so this could end up with a similar gross. Perhaps a slightly lower OW but better legs.

That was helped out with the whole behind the scenes drama and spitting “scandal” though.

That's not going to make a difference. You're delusional if you think it has a shot at $100m

I think its more likely to make 15 million total, but who knows maybe a MÉNAGE À TROIS tennis drama starring Zendaya (this is really her first every shot at starring her outside of that similar Malcolm and Marie film that everyone ignored during the pandemic (#1 on Netflix week 1, not even in top 10 weekend 2) She kind of reminds me more of Keira Knightly fame wise racking up supporting roles in well liked films, everyone knows who she is, then Domino comes along.

But she does have a lot of success from Euphoria which this could be marketing to so it could surprise with s a high teens opening.

I think best case is $50-60m total. That's with an OK opening and great legs.

Realistically - $40m would be a good target for it.
