Super stoked about Zootopia 2. Can't wait.

Toy Story 5 is a mistake. They should've waited more time. That said ya, it'll probably still do well.

Frozen 2 was underwhelming, hopefully they have something epic for this one.

Surprisingly not mentioned, but I can see Encanto 2 outgross TS5 and Frozen3 though I think Zootopia pent up demand for a sequel could push it to an Incredibles 2 type run.

Toy Story brand feels like it's been tainted a bit by LY and its starting to feel a bit dated with just another installment and nothing new or fresh on the table.

Zootopia I wouldn't be shocked by $450M+.

I think Moana 2 should've been a priority tbh. It's always done well on the Nielson chart for streaming.

Toy Story 5 feels like something that'd see a fair drop from 4, but many also predicted 4 to see a drop from 3 and looked what happened there. I'd guess 2025 at the earliest? That's 6 years. That's enough time for another generation of kids to bank on turning out.

Frozen 3 might have the least potential, which is weird to say.

TS: V - 120m|380m

Frozen: III - 105m|385m

Zootopia: II - 125m|495m

Frozen 1 really over-achieved and almost maxxed out. The second went up to max potential IMO so the thrid should be somehwere in between 1 and 2 - which would be great.

Zootopia should get to $400m but I can't see $500m

TS5 - between $350 and $420m

Tim Allen just said that him and Hank have been approached to come back for #5. What a concept that having the original Buzz Lightyear in a role he's played for almost 30 years would be a smart concept. Good thing they aren't thinking of recasting that role again.

Are kids really clamoring for Zootopia 2 that way? It'll be 8-9 years by the time it comes out, usually kids grow up in that time. What they were into as a 6 year old is totally different from what they want to watch as a 15 year old.

Nostalgia sells. I mean, Incredibles 2 came out 14 years later and would adjust to $738M.

I do think Zootopia will print $$$. It's multiplier was sensational too for a $75M OW to leg it out to $341M (and $1B globally).

Yeah good point. My oldest son was 5 when it was released, and I doubt he'd want to see it. He's more into Star Wars, The Matrix and the like now. His younger brother who was 2 then may still want to see it though.

Zootopia was a fantastic movie. Feel like the young adult crowd will show up for sure.

I don't really buy Barrabas' argument. It looks like a hot take but is more fetching, in my opinion. The audience that got the first to $340 million will still be there. The names of the attendees will be different but the demographics will be the same. The US population hasn't suddenly dropped by 50% or something in the last 8-9 years. There will be new 6 year old kids that want to see it. New parents that want to see it. Just because Timmy is 15 now doesn't mean there isn't another Timmy who is 6 to fill his place. There definitely is. Plus Timmy-15 will still see it because the first film had an impact and it still has goodwill. It's like Barrabas is saying that ALL kids that loved Zootopia then will not want to see the sequel now. If even 10% see it (it'll be way more than that), it's an increase over the first. Hell, I'm 37 and I want to see it. I was into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when I was 6, and when a new one of those comes out it STILL interests me. Nostalgia is powerful, and an 8-9 year gap is nothing ... as The Incredibles 2 proved.

a lot depends on when exactly they release because of ticket price inflation. But just assuming for the sake of it all were to release in 2025 let's say (ignoring the effect they would have on each other):
