How long can the exhibitors stay closed without dramatic, industry-shifting fallout? Even a month seems like it could be a death blow for smaller chains.

Mulan was one of Disney’s 2 for-sure biggies (along with Black Widow), and now it’s delayed. Wouldn’t be surprised if Black Widow followed suit. For now, Pixar’s Soul looks fine where it is, unless things worsen. Jungle Cruise will stay where it is for now, probably.

The financial hammer will soon fall. Business in Singapore has been heavily impacted as the country depends on trade, shipping and tourism the most. There are serious discussions going around recession in the country.

This has escalated so quickly. Almost nothing is immune to this. I manage a Barnes & Nobles and have been receiving emails about it for a couple weeks now, and one today suggested that the Starbucks may temporarily close to limit the number of visitors to the location.

And it really did seem like Disney was hellbent on releasing Mulan this month, but good move to delay it.

Not to go off topic, but where do you manage a B&N? I’m a cafe manager and I’m pretty nervous currently..

Bitcoin has dropped almost $4000 today and it’s not stopping. I thought that was supposed to be the failsafe.

I dont see box office fully recovering , even after panic subsides, Bad boys for life has an outside shot at domestic crown for the year, though I think it’d settle for top 5 finish,

Btw, I’m pretty confident Trump got Coronavirus and they are covering it up. If he didn’t have it, they would already have released a public statement that he's already tested negative,

He doesn’t want to be tested. Even though he was photographed inches from someone this past weekend who has tested positive.

Wow. NBA, March Madness, travel, Milan. Far reaching indeed. Olympics?

I wonder if Disney will push their November animated release to 2021 and put Mulan there.

Mulan should release in August.

Tbh the release schedule was so horrible this year that finding a new release date for most of these isn't a problem.

Unfortunately this could happen every 5-10 years. You have to wonder if the main difference between this and swine flu's response is the social media landscape.

There's another crisis brewing which will affect the movie business: More and more productions have to shut down. This will have a major impact on the release schedule 2021 too...

The 2021 release schedule will definitely change. A bunch of boggles will move out and some 2020 films will move in.

However this also just pours accelerant on the burning fire of BO decline and will only further help TV/streaming.

Last October I had a vision that the Trolls sequel would win the Spring 2020 box office, so I immediately flew to Las Vegas and bet $10,000 on it at million:one odds. In retrospect, this is looking like a good decision.

Cineworld (parent company of Regal) signaling that they will unable to make debt payments in an extended shutdown scenario. Wonder how many chains are in a similar situation.

AMC is cutting seating to 50% until April 30th. With no big movies, pretty much isn't going to effect anyone that really wants to see whats out. Smart and realistic move.
