Great to see The Numbers acknowledge the influx of new visitors.

Re: How do you like the new Box Office Mojo?
Honestly though I wish The Numbers would do a lot of changing and become more like BOM used to be. I feel like that should just be fixed up and then there's no need for another site. I'm sure they will be making a lot of improvements though so I can wait.

Re: How do you like the new Box Office Mojo?
Agreed. Anyone with an API into ERC could do this BUT Numbers already has the infrastructure in place. In the early days of BOM, Brandon had a very small staff (trivia: Brandon and Rth, yea that Rth, were college friends and I’m sure the latter helped out with the site) but it was a full time gig with costs associated. I’m rooting for TheNumbers and want them to benefit. I always liked those guys.

Have we approached The Numbers in regards to associating with them?

Re: How do you like the new Box Office Mojo?
The-numbers is way better than NuMojo, but yeah, its not the same. The BOM layout was perfect aesthetically. You could see the daily numbers for the weekend for the top 6-7 movies on a single page. Nobody else has that. Plus there was so comforting about their color design, font choices and ease of use.

Re: How do you like the new Box Office Mojo?
I wish Brandon Grey still wrote the weekend recaps. He was such a good writer, witty, geniunely insightful, always commented on films' marketing campaigns and the cultural moment surrounding particular films. It's an absolute pleasure to go back and read any of his write-ups.
Of course they also deleted the weekend re-caps from the top of each weekend box office (which is now horribly hard to find). Now you have to go through the 'News' section which is just an endless list of the articles.
Seriously fuck IMDB so much. I legitimately want to organize a trip to Seattle to protest outside their offices. I bet it could get some good media attention.

Re: How do you like the new Box Office Mojo?
Oh My God they also removed the budgets.
Fuck that, I'm booking a train to Seattle and making a sign. Who's with me? Let's message Deadline Hollywood, Variety, Hwood Reporter, etc. I bet they would cover it.
This is their address FYI:
535 Terry Avenue North Seattle, WA 98109-5210

Re: How do you like the new Box Office Mojo?
Spending alot more time than before at TheNumbers. Has its pluses and minuses. The minuses relate to the layout mostly. Fortunately they are making improvements and it'll get better but yea I miss the Mojo web design. Here's a link to the archived page, from right before the switch: http://boxofficebox.com/You can navigate and everything. Good for historical research

Re: How do you like the new Box Office Mojo?
New Mojo is trash and a pale, lifeless, useless shadow of what it was. It needs to be shit on again.
The numbers is such a full-on assault of advertisements I find it to be almost too obnoxious to use regularly. I appreciate them a lot more now though.

Yeah, The Numbers really needs to do something about the amount of ads. The site runs so slow with the added traffic + ads.

I like The Numbers but still prefer old Mojo.

I’m liking the enhancements to Numbers. User interface could see improvements but they are making steps in the right direction. Archived Mojo: http://boxofficebox.com/

I feel like I've gone back to the 90s. It's sickening that they don't have daily numbers until like 5-8pm now.

It has all the modern website tools(AJAX etc) but its cluttered from information perspective. But content wise they seem to have "prioritized" on what is important to their customers. Anyway The-numbers updates daily numbers as soon as its available thought that site has its own issues. Plus if you google any movie's BO BOM is number 1 result while numbers do not even come on the 1st page :-(.

Re: How do you like the new Box Office Mojo?
Losing the original BOM is a major blow. I've spent countless hours browsing the site for almost twenty years, and I genuinely feel lost without it. I hope the IMDb Pro integration was worth it because it sure sucks losing it.

And honestly I'd pay a reasonable yearly fee on The Numbers to get rid of all the ads.

https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/boxofficemojo.comYou can see the decline in traffic counts for Mojo.
