‘Tenet’ Takes $717K In Two Days Of Korea Previews As Coronavirus Surge Threatens Movie Theaters
Apparently WB choose South Korea as a testbed for screening movie in an ongoing pandemic country, my country is too safe to do this.

Re: Tenet predictions
Very strong signs for Tenet for next week, seeing lots of sold out shows at theaters in Canada, where the first showings started tonight. Lots of sold out shows I'm seeing in Vancouver and Toronto!

I’m gonna go on September 8th I think. That is the day after my apartment pool closes, so if I catch It then at least I won’t kill all the old people in my complex. Good compromise right? Right???

Best to not think of catching it. Even though mild it's still a deathly disease.

I just watch it, but I won't say anything except it's ranked 5th in my Nolan list (I watch all of his eleven feature films)

Re: Tenet predictions
And here's my short review, I swear it's not a spoiler, I'm not even talking about plot, I just tell what it's like, but I'll put it in spoiler tag just in case someone is very serious about avoiding spoiler. Tenet is not just a jigsaw puzzle, it's a jigsaw puzzle competition. When the time is up, everyone stop and look at their puzzle. Even if you can't finish assemble every pieces (me neither), you'll still know what is the picture (everyone get the same picture, no need to interpret), like it's a picture of dog, but some will missing its eye, some will miss its tail, some will only get a fur. Most will satisfy at their result, some won't and want to watch it again until they get the whole picture. Some will just search for the picture on the internet.

Re: Tenet predictions
Michigan theaters are reopening this week, could be a nice little bump.
If Cali and NY both reopen on the same weekend, could Tenet top its original $9.7M weekend?

Re: Tenet predictions
With NYC reaching 1K cases daily again, I don't see theaters opening there anytime soon.

Re: Tenet predictions
Well Tenet pulled $600K from just 55 IMAX theaters ($11K PTA) last weekend with the extended Dune 2 footage. That would bring it to about $59.1M domestic. 4 years later it's inching towards $60M!

Re: Tenet predictions
Crazy thread and comments (including my own.)
I think this would have opened big in its original date with no covid. The problem is that it requires more than one viewing to really appreciate which means wom and legs would have been poor. Like $70/175M ish?

Re: Tenet predictions
It's trippy seeing some of the old 2020 box office prediction threads. The debate possibly of Tenet and Wonderwoman 2 leading 2020. Instead of Bad Boys 3 and Sonic at #1 and #2 and Tenet and Wonderwoman at #9 and #10. Tenet coming out in 2020 of all years definitely feels in sync with the Twilight Zone esk feel of that year.

Re: Tenet predictions
This doing 300m overseas during covid era is pretty crazy. I'm bummed I missed this rerelease, too busy to catch it.

Re: Tenet predictions
The movie was garbage, it would have flopped no matter when it opened.
