The ISLAND Predictions & Tracking
According to the archives and search, there isn't a thread for The Island yet. Or, I hope #-o
The final trailer came online today at apple:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/dreamwork ... large.html
Bay's name as a big action director oughta pull in audiances for this one. It looks to be a smart action flick. I see it having an excellent performance
Website:
http://www.theisland-themovie.com/youha ... hosen.html
Opens July 22nd.
What are your predictions?
I foresee a 40 million dollar opening and a finish in the upper 130 range.
Anyone else?

The movie looks fantastic. I see Minority Report numbers, but a smaller total.
Opening: $36 million
Total: $118.8 million

Actually there was one, just not updated for a while anymore.
I predict typical Bay numbers.
Opening weekend - $45 million
Total gross - $120 million

Oh, damn Eagle and his non-functioning search options.
Well, we can leave this one to float down and revive the other if anyone wants. I don't care where we discuss it.
Mary, speak up!

45/145. I think that will be a hit and it will get some extra people (not only bay fans) cause of its story.

I, Robot numbers, but without the Will Smith effect, so slightly lower
$44million opening
$128million total

Speaking of story, I heard this was based upon Brave New World, which is a fantastic book. Anyone know for sure?

I think it looks amazing.
The trailer was fantastic, and the tv spots are very good.
I'm looking forward to this, and I think it will be a moderate success, nothing major.
$37/$120
I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks out though, and makes more than $150 million. Anything is possible, especially for this kind of movie.

It looks very interesting and I've heard a lot of people talking about this one. Having the trailer attached to War of the Worlds three weeks earlier certainly won't hurt (same with Wedding Crasher/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, also WB). It doesn't have Will Smith, but the trailer is much stronger then any of I, Robot's were, so I think they'll cancel each other out. 55/155.

I laughed so hard during the trailer. Any comedy that puts a smile on your face like that is bound to be huge.
Did anyone else feel that Scarlett was on the verge of having a fit of hysterical laughter throughout the trailer?
