I may be the only one in this club, but does anyone want to join me? I don't know what it is but something feels off about IW, no doubt its going to be huge but I believe it will not out gross the original Avengers.

With a $230m OW it needs a multiplier less than 2.8 to get past $625m. I'm OUT.

It's going to feel very strange if it doesn't beat Black Panther. If it's an A+ movie it could do a 260/700 run.

The last week of April is usually a dumping ground in part because it is peak prom season in high school and college kids are largely cramming for the end of the year. This could soften the opening but would only make for a bigger second weekend.

I agree with $250m/$650m total so it will be just above The Avengers but not way too high.

If this tops TA than that would be fantastic honestly. I'm still not sure if I even believe it will happen, but it definitely has a shot depending on how HUGE the OW is and legs.

Yeah passing TA will be a big feat as none of the movies have come close to $500m before BP. I just feel touching $600m+ mark is very hard for these movies as the audience won't expand now even with BP over-performance.

With a record or near record opening likely, and basically no competition until Deadpool, I see this beating The Avengers, and possibly beating Black Panther. My prediction is for it to beat BP with somewhere around 700M. I'm out.

Yeah I think this is going to happen unless IW really catches on with the GA. I'm sure WOM will be strong with the fans and they will see it multiple times, but as of right now I'm not seeing the casuals constantly repeating like most did with TA.

The WoM is quite good here among GA and even though its a small data the non-fans are liking it equally.

It will open too big for it to fail. I don't think it will beat Black Panther though.

I also don't think it will drop like a rock so there is a chance for it to top BP. It will also be interesting to see IW's 4-day total that could rightly be compared to BP's 4-day. And then the first week of SW7 which was almost $400m (still can't believe that )

The second weekend for IW will also be interesting because traditionally that's the regular Marvel spot and weekend is generally HUGE. If IW can have a decent second weekend hold (50% drop) then it should be lock to beat BP.

I'm glad this club failed. I might not have liked it as much as the first Avengers, but given the hype and expectations it would have been somewhat disappointing if it did happen.
