Re: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse predictions (14/12/18)
As much as I dug the teaser it's still hard to predict this one IMO. The Lego Batman Movie seems like the best comparison by far, although this is coming out in a much more competitive landscape. I mean it has Aquaman, Bumblebee and Marry Poppins to deal with in the upcoming weeks, but as of now at least their isn't a Star Wars movie coming out. If it's really good it should be able to coexist with everything else, but my expectations aren't high.

And to be slightly more optimistic like 2007's TMNT animated film which would put it in the region of $70m or so. Lord and Miller's involvement may help I guess but just doesnt feel right being released just as they have rebooted Spider-man for the second time in 5 years.

Re: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse predictions (14/12/18)
I had not thought of TMNT. Ok, so that makes it a slightly better prospect. Perhaps it can get to $70m, yeah. That's the ceiling for me.

I honestly didn't even think of TMNT 2007 until MadGez brought it up, and I could see that as a good comparison too. Like I said before it's a hard one to predict this early without seeing more trailers, but you guys make some good points I'll give you that.

It’s 12/14/18 not 14/12/18. :-)

That's another stupid Americanism. You go from smallest to largest (day-month-year), not mid to small to largest (month-day-year).

Animation looks great, but Spiderman franchise should stop for like 15 years.

Re: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse predictions (14/12/18)
This looks just like the dtv DC Marvel animated stuff. I don’t see why the trailer is doing so well.

Re: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse predictions (14/12/18)
It's really going to depend on how they release it. Is it a legit animated movie or like the Joker movie a few years ago. Honestly I see something like Clone Wars/ TMNT numbers. So maybe 45-65 total.

Re: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse predictions (14/12/18)
The interest seems to be there, but I'm still sticking with my previous prediction for now. After that second trailer I definitely think $100M+ will happen though.

Star Wars The Clone Wars type performance.

Re: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse predictions (14/12/18)
There does seem to be some buzz surrounding this. Probably entirely due to the fact it’s about Miles. I think it looks bad but I think it will hit 100m total.

Re: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse predictions (14/12/18)
This wont be another Clone Wars. This should be good for $80-$120m.
