Very weak for both openers. OK for Kingsman if that holds.

It's such a shame Kingsman won't make it to 100 million. Should have opened it in August. I wonder if we'll even get a third now.

Re: Early Friday #s
I can't imagine Kingsman not having a big drop next weekend... not hitting 100m would look not good but overseas numbers are decent and the budget is "low"ish so I hope a third gets made.

What a rough weekend. American Made opened OK, It should have a decent drop, but everything else did pretty bad. Even Stronger had a bad hold, and Battle of the Sexes is a non-event despite very good reviews and two well-liked stars. Victoria & Abdul is the only really good story of the weekend. Still a record September, but it's going out with a bit of a whimper.

Re: Early Friday #s
American Made could've easily had an August release like it did overseas. *sigh*

That would be kind of cool if IT reclaims the top spot.

Re: Early Friday #s
There are so many movies that could have benefited from August release specially Kingsman and should have done $100m. I knew American Made won't break out.

Re: Early Friday #s
I think the rehash of Blow did pretty well. Especially since Cruise is following JR2 and the Mummy. If it does 50+ and over 150+ WW it's an easy hit.

Re: Early Friday #s
Isn't it certified fresh? That means it's a hit already. That's the barometer it should be measured on against The Mummy and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, not by box office because American Made will make less than both. I wouldn't consider it a hit in the franchise that is Tom Cruise when it makes less than its two predecessors.
