IT is at 59% on movietickets now. I'm thinking it can break 80% by time previews start.

I wonder if some of the non R-Rated films will see better holds due to underage kids trying to sneak into IT.

Home Again is already #2 on MT.com, hours ahead of previews. Blockbuster?! ("It" is 77% now, which sounds about right).

Would be hard not to be in second place already considering how little everything else will make. Who knows, maybe it could crack double digits. Doubtful but possible. Maybe some will buy tickets to that to sneak into IT.

Seems like for a movie like "It", you could sneak in but not have an actual seat?

Re: September 8-10 Predictions
Plus I feel it would be really difficult to do it. Though it depends on your theater. Wouldn't be hard if it were a movie they weren't going to be watching, but my theater ID's you when you buy the ticket and again when someone rips it. Then in the case of something like IT they will have employees at the door of the theater. So it would be pretty impossible at my theater. Now if you wanted to sneak into one of next weekend's two openers they wouldn't have someone at the door at least but even if you buy your tickets online the ticket ripper will still need to see your ID. So glad I'm not under 17 .

Our nearest competing theater has 18 showtimes tomorrow starting at 10am. Massive.

4103 theaters for IT. Highest ever for an R rated movie.

Re: September 8-10 Predictions
Wondering if Annabelle will actually hold well (under 50%) with all the drive-in pairings. Makes for an awesome night at the movies.

Re: September 8-10 Predictions
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the R rated record for previews is Hangover II with 10.4M, and the horror record is Paranormal Activity 4 with 4.5M (Annabelle Creation did 4M, The Conjuring did 3.31M). Wonder what IT did...
