Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
I think Marvel mania is losing its fever pitch, but that could change after June

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Isn't it obvious? Because what we've all been waiting for for ten years has now been released. DIB didn't say nobody cares. But it is almost impossible to maintain IW-level of excitement for so long. The next release is just Ant-Man 2, so of course its fever pitch is less.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Ah i c. Alright I guess I misunderstood the point though I feel these solo movies are different from the main series. Ant-Man will surely join the final Avengers and whoever saw IW knows that there is an installment next year for the main series.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Can you imagine calling an old aged pensioner Michelle? It just sounds weird. Like Jake or Daryl or any of these newfangled non-names like Lebron and Candrice. Old people are meant to be called Vera and Jim and Ethel forever!!!!

And Mavis and Audrey. As a kid i remember my mum used to help out salt of the earth old ladies with these names. Now these names are common in my kids' school, especially among Asians.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
lol. Chinese people choosing English names is hilarious. It's never normal. It's either older names Mildred and Albert or weird ones like Tiger and Snow.
My gran was called Mavis. Audrey makes me think instantly of Tatou.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Usually IMAX posters are awesome. This is the worst one I've seen in a long, long time. Just bleh...nothing. Looks more like an advert for Dolby Surround Sound or HDTVs than for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

I have actually thought the marketing for this the past few weeks has been pretty darn good.

Really? Just standard MCU stuff. I've not seen anything that particularly stands out.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Those tv spots are great, but I wish we got more of that earlier because it feels a little late in the game IMO, but who knows maybe I'm wrong. The marketing has been pretty meh so far honestly, but I wouldn't underestimate it after saying the same thing about the first Ant-Man and Doctor Strange.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
I forgot Ant-Man was in Civil War. Surely that increased the popularity/exposure of the character. This new one will almost definitely make more than the original.

Idk, it's hard to make a case people liked Civil War.

Chippy wrote: Idk, it's hard to make a case people liked Civil War. Is it, though? It's got a good 89% audience score on RT, a solid 7.8 on IMDB and scored an A at Cinemascore. It had shit legs, but burning off a lot of upfront demand and not doing too well at drawing in crowds beyond the opening weekend doesn't indicate that those who did see it didn't like it. Besides, even if Civil War was poorly received, the fact that it was so much bigger than Ant-Man was can only help the character.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
It's funny, Marvel puts out so many films, it seems like Civil War was so long ago. Barely 2 years!

It's Marvel. After BP and AIW, $250m+ seems guaranteed.

This is a fun poster. Shame it's only for a fan event.
