Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Yeah, I think a Doctor Strange/Thor 2 opening with longer legs due to summer weekdays and weaker competition. Even though Hotel Transylvania will appeal to kids and MI:6 will appeal to adults, I expect this will appeal to everyone.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
I enjoyed the trailer aswell. I definitely see this increasing from the first and coming hot off BP/IW I wouldn't be surprised it it opened to $100M. I think a Doctor Strange/Thor 2 opening is more likely though which means mid to high 80's and with solid summer legs it could reach $250M.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
It's a positive trailer. Nothing revolutionary that will suddenly make me predict $120m opening weekend, but it will continue the MCU trend and perform well.
Does anyone know who the villain is?

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
It's films like this, Doctor Strange and Guardians which make me appreciate the job Marvel/Feige has done acclimating us to weirder and weirder superhero concepts.

Did Ant-Man show up in the Infinity Wars trailer? I don't recall. I could see them doing a framing device of the events of Infinity Wars and like, flashing back from that, or ending the film with it syncing up to Infinity Wars. Or even include a tease to this in that movie? I'm sure Marvel knows what they're doing here.

Yep IW was originally planned to be two movie so I am sure they would have planned something accordingly.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
I don’t recall but did Ant Man feature any plot building blocks toward a next Avengers movie (or larger story)?

I don't think so. It just introduced Ant-Man prior to Civil War.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Wasp will reportedly be in Avengers 4. Maybe by then only the females will have survived: Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Wasp

This is gunna get a boost just because it is the first "regular" MCU movie since the unbridled success of BP and IW.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
No way it does over $300m. I actually see Infinity War hurting it. The long wait is over. Ant-Man 2 coming after the big event will feel like an encore, when people were really strung along for ten years for the main event.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Yeah I don't think this will do $300m but I think it can pass $230m which would be good enough boost from $180m total the last one had. It could still do $700m WW total though, the last one was already at $520m WW.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
Cool Michelle Pfeiffer is in it.
I don't know what it'll do, but I hope less than Solo, so my Top 5 in MGKC's game still has a chance.

Re: Ant-Man and the Wasp predictions
For the future of blockbuster cinema, I unselfishly hope it tops Solo by $100m.
