It will be pretty much review proof come opening weekend, but I'd be really surprised if it got worse reviews than Kong. However, I do think Jungle Book kind of got by because of the incredible FX. Story wise that movie was hollow as shit IMO.

I mean I haven't loved any of the trailers, but I was expecting this to get better than a 71% on RT. Between these reviews and the sudden gay outrage I'm very curious what the legs of this movie will look like, but I'm confident it's going to open HUGE regardless.

Re: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST *$180 MILLION OW* Club It will drop 50%ish. Probably about a 3X multiple considering only Alice and Oz, both with a weaker reception still managed 2.87 and 2.97 multiples. So a total in the high 400's still seems likely.
Though a family friendly pic opens each week after for three weeks until Fast 8. Boss Baby and Smurfs won't be big on their own but combined could make a dent. And Power Rangers has a lot of buzz it seems. Thinking a 50m opening weekend minimum.
