Re: Thor: Ragnarok predictions
Doctor Strange has been confirmed for the film as well.
Definitely a lock for $200+ million.

Re: Thor: Ragnarok predictions
It seemed pretty much a definitive agreement between the two that Strange is helping Thor. Not a good tease then.

Re: Thor: Ragnarok predictions
Did we know he would appear in it? Pretty much, yeah. But did they clearly shy away from confirming? Yes. When I flat-out asked Cumberbatch in October, whether he will be in Thor: Ragnarok, he just said something to the extent of "no comment".

Re: Thor: Ragnarok predictions
Well obviously it was a marketing ploy not to confirm anthing in order not to take away headlines from DS. But I don't see how that scene wasn't enough by itself.

Re: Thor: Ragnarok predictions
I'm really excited about the first trailer for this one. It sucks we still have to wait another three months at the earliest just for a teaser, but the hype will be HUGE once it does land. I mean Hulk, Strange and the possibility of Thanos showing up and wrecking shit could drive it to Civil War levels of anticipation.
We already know it's suppose to setup Infinity Wars in a big way.

I think $250 mil should be the goal for this.

Re: Thor: Ragnarok predictions
This should open close to $100m and it could end up with $250m-$300m depends on the quality.

Trailer is pretty good. Not really sure about how this will do though... maybe like Winter Soldier opening? Rn I'm thinking 95-110.

Re: Thor: Ragnarok predictions
Thor 2's marketing was rather blah, and it still managed $85 million. The teaser for this seriously blew up on my feed in a way that not even the Guardians trailers did, so I think $100+ million OW is looking good. Legs are gonna be rough with Justice League so soon after, but I think $250+ million is likely. Hulk is gonna drive a lot of business.

Re: Thor: Ragnarok predictions
This is going to be BIG. Everybody seems to be loving the trailer and the addition of Hulk will definitely increase hype levels. The only problem this movie is facing is JL, but I still see an opening over $100M and a $250M+ total.
