This is the right move. It gives GotG breathing space and also separates it from only being 5 months after Rogue One. I suspect Han Solo may also move back to Dec.

Oh yah I think now Disney will release all their star wars movie in December.

Well, it should get at least 700 now. Though matching TFA may still be a tall order

Thank goodness. Keeping it in summer would have hurt it, Guardians and Rogue One. Now all of them have room to breathe and can make $400-$800M..

I doubt Episode 8 opening in May would've hurt Rogue One's box office. Guardians would've been hurt a lot though.

Nah no way will they open the same month.

Avatar either moves up to summer 17 or back to summer/Christmas 18.

1. This almost guarantees a December release for Episode IX. Why this matters is that it sets up a possible clash with one of the Avatar sequels.

2. The Avatar themed Disney World attraction is supposed to open Dec 2017. If Avatar 2 does come out at that time then Disney has a conflict of interest. It wants Avatar 2 to do well in order to promote the theme park attraction while also rooting for Episode 8.

lol fuck off Star Wars.

just what we needed. superhero nonsense every summer and star wars every december. boring as fuck for anyone with imagination.

anyway, the hype already starting to die off as people realise how mediocre this one was as well.

hope avatar does make the date and we'll see some true bloody competition. pirates v superman returns anyone?

Avatar is gone. SW is gonna destroy.

God I can handle an avatar sequel, but three back to back 10 years later just feels like it's gonna be an awful experience.

• Murder on the Orient Express (2017) (Fox) - 11/10
• Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2017) (Uni.) - 11/17
• The Justice League Part One (WB) - 11/17
• Coco (BV) - 11/22

December
• The Lamb (Sony) - 12/8
• Ready Player One (WB) - 12/15
• Star Wars: Episode VIII (BV) - 12/15

So glad Avatar 2 moved, November and December 2017 are too crowded

BvS has almost as much appeal as JL1 IMO.

But if Thor markets hulk, it'll destroy enough. I'm not sure anyone is expecting more than 180-250

So the Return of the Jedi resulted in just one last Jedi?

Should just call it The Last Jedi Knight and have Optimus Prime make a cameo.
