Probably around $225 mil or so. But the total will be RIGHT around $800 mil.

Re: Star Wars - The Last Jedi Predictions The movie being Carrie Fisher's last SW appearance should soften the drop. I expect a slightly lower multiplier than the first though, even in december. So overall something like $230m OW, $800m overall.

Rogue one made 32 million on the Monday after Christmas weekend as it was a holiday for many.

RO while a spin-off didn't come close to that mark but the marketing for this seems so much subdued than TFA, I know they have more than enough time for this to build buzz but this feels so much closer to RO than TFA

But it has time, and it's certainly unlikely to be so subdued by December that it misses 200m OW.

I do agree this being a sequel will help and the buzz will build for it eventually though you have to remember there is another fanboy movie coming in November with JL so the buzz might not pick up as it should. I do believe it will sneak $200m OW in the end but it could be another AoU and miss $200m OW, I am right now just at the edge of that mark right now.

AoU's reference was only meant for all-time biggest opener sequel failing to match expectations. December is again a factor even though it wasn't for TFA it might start acting soon for SW movies as well where only the fanboys rush over OW.
