Robots and Pacifier both dropped big (-14% and -15%, respectively). I hope that whatever caused that also played a role in the drop for Hitchhiker's, although it's clearly at least somewhat frontloaded.

Worse then I expected for Hitchhiker's. I think it's looking more likely to be the first 20m opener to fall short of 50m.

I'm not sure it's that bad for Hitchhiker. As Jeff said, both Robots and Pacifier had worse drops yesterday, and they have been out for ever. Hitchhiker also had a good Monday hold. The first couple of weekdays look fine to me.

What I am still not sure about is Hitchhiker's family/kids appeal.. does it have any or does it come across like that in avdertising?
If so, then I see a second weekend of around $11-12 million, if not, then it should be under $11 million.

Yeah, I'm sure Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes are doing backflips over this and a sequel is inevitable, perhaps a remake of Amityville II: The Posession??

Great work from Amityville! Just what i expected after seeing it. Its a good film - the best horror film in some time and im glad audiences are finding it. Together with Sahara, Sin City and Interepeter - it makes it the best April since 99.

Libs,
I am sorry XXX2 is underperforming. I know it was your favorite movie of the year thus far. Don't feel so bad though. Alien vs Predator 2 is sure to be a hit and this will cheer you up in no time. \:D/
