Yep sorry Rev I think it will end up between 60-70 RT score. Not bad but not great. All the signs were pointing toward this kind of reception. It's not going to even flinch on OW#'s but will definitely hurt it's legs similarly to TLJ.

The RT score is at 87% with around 100 Reviews.

Unless the next 100 reviews are mostly scathing I don't see how it's going below 85% let alone into the 60's, so I have no idea what you guys are going on about lol.

There's obviously plenty of positive feedback, but as previously mentioned, many of the "fresh" reviews read like real fence-sitters. For all the hype and expectation, I didn't expect 13 rotten reviews total, much less before release.

Those were insane expectations.

Marvels movies are all horrible films sans maybe 2 or 3 of them, just a matter of time.

The reception is more muted than the last few films, but I imagine those films (especially Black Panther) have raised the bar somewhat. And it sounds like this film is trying to do so much that inevitably not all of it is gonna work.

Barring a massive downfall, it's looking to land somewhere in Civil War's range with maybe more "Rottens" since more reviewers will probably review this.

This was never going to get reviews on par with Black Panther. Critics just aren't going to see it the same way, especially after so many superhero team-ups/mash-ups in the MCU already. The fact that it has managed to stay in the 80's so far should be considered a pretty big achievement in itself IMO.

Yeah, this was never going to be a unanimous critical hit. It will just make a ton load of money and be a big talking point for a few weeks.

This is gonna drop like a rock.

Another thing to remember these are reviews from premiere night screenings within the first 12 hours of being released on RT, Black Panther was at 100% for the first 72 hours before it got it's first Rotten.

With Top Critics Infinity War is at 7.3 (22 Fresh/8 Rotten) vs. Black Panther's 10.0 (50 Fresh/ 0 Rotten)

How could anyone expect a good, coherent film with like 15 different heroes who all want to get their 'moment'? The closest equivalent is one of the Lord of the Rings films, but those were 3hrs+ and there was a real plot.

There's no need for character development except for the villian(s). The plot should be pretty straight forward.

Agreed. The characters have been introduced and developed over the course of the MCU films (yes some more than others).

That said - i find the ensemble "Avengers" films to be a bit of a disappointment in comparison to the individual character films especially if they are just balls out action.

Its not all action but then again there is not enough time other than to show the segregated heroes struggling with Thanos minions and the main story of finding the stones.

According to Dr. Lecter, it is 140 minutes non-stop action. I believe him.

Where did he mention that? It has A LOT of action but there are different side stories going along specially the arrogant choices of these Avengers (out of hopelessness) is the constant theme here, the main action happens at the start and other than a few fight scenes in the middle act there is not much fighting till the very end fight at Wakanda. Now there are CGI scenes throughout the movie but its more fantasy movie at that time than an action movie.

Also its runtime is 150 (or 156) minutes.
