RottenTomatoes tracking thread
I think this thread got deleted at BOM, but I don't see why we can't start it up again here. I don't have time now to post a full list of all the 2004 movies' RT scores, but i'll try to to get around to it soon.
Here are the current scores for movies opening this weekend.
The Grudge 34% 10 Fresh 19 Rotten
Surviving Christmas 12% 2 Fresh 15 Rotten
I Heart Huckabees 60% 66 Fresh 44 Rotten
The Machinist 74% 17 Fresh 6 Rotten
Sideways 100% 22 Fresh 0 Rotten

Not a great score for The Grudge, but hey, The Forgotten didn't get splendid reviews either.

Exactly. The two RT scores are eerily similar.
The thread at BOM, which I started, didn't get deleted, but it's just people seem to be less interested in tracking it after the summer.

This is good news for The Forgotten. The Grudge has a more attractive cast for the younger audience, it gets released in more theatres and closer to Halloween. Expect an opening somewhat bigger than The Forgotten's.

Don't forget, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre didn't get great reviews as well and it still turned out to be a box-office smash.

I'm shocked at Sideways' 100% rating, with 35 reviews.
Does anyone think this could have a PTA bigger than Huckabees?
If Huckabees managed a 70k PTA with a barely fresh rating...

I doubt it. Huckabees has a more intriguing premise and kind of an all-star cast.

I agree with Ebert's 1 star review of The Grudge. The film is one of the worst ive seen this year. There are no scares at all and its boring as hell,There were many boo's when the film ended.
