 CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
Post them here.
I'll most likely check out WALL STREET this weekend. I really hope the BLACK SWAN trailer is attached. If anyone sees it let me know if it was attached to your print.

I hope that YOU AGAIN surprises, though it's doubtful. I think it looks adorable.

I kind of have a feeling WALL STREET 2 might disappoint.

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
You're absolutely wrong, Mike. I've seen a lot of sell-outs for this. You Again and LOTG are the ones that will definitely disappoint especially the former.

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
I really don't care about the reviews for LOTG. I think it looks great. I'll definitely be seeing it in 3D. Seems like one of the few movies that is worth it.

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
Easy A 7:40 PM Friday Theater Capacity: ~180 (90% full, 90% tweeny boppers)
TRAILERS Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part I- I got into the theater just as it came on and was trying to find a seat so unfortunately I kind of missed it but lots of people were talking and saying "Harry Potter!!" Love and Other Drugs- This is that big Oscar bait movie? I don't think it looks that great, but it got a pretty good reaction. Everyone laughed at the last scene in the trailer. Morning Glory- I'm sorry but this movie just looks bad. I forget how the audience reacted, but I think they were laughing. They seemed to like all the trailers. Catfish- Can't wait for this to go wide. There was chatter at the end. Burlesque- This is the only trailer that really didn't get any kind of reaction. Meh.
FILM
A very solid B.

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
I expect Wall Street to do well in the East Coast (especially in New York), as indicated by the sell outs, but in the West Coast, it is doing okay at best, like my theater and others in the OC.

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
That would be disappointing for YOU AGAIN, but it should see decent legs, especially since next weekend it won't have much competition. It won't have much throughout October.
However, that would be great for WALL STREET, awesome for THE TOWN (especially with WALL STREET looking to open well), solid for EASY A, and even not that bad for DEVIL.

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole Showing - 9:50PM Theater Capacity - 8 people
Trailers: -Megamind -The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader -Tangled -Rio -Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I
We decided to see the film in 2D (I may go back for 3D at a later date), but the film was beautiful.
The owls themselves were wonderful looking, as was the world that was shown. Many of the negative reviews all agree that the story is either confusing, or dull, or just plain bad. I have not read the books, and I was never confused by the story. It's a pretty basic fantasy-adventure story. What confused people exactly?
The only issues I had with the film was the overuse of the slow motion sequences, and the character development (Digger and Twilight were fun though) could have been stronger.
I really enjoyed The Legend of the Guardians, and it's a shame it'll be the only one released. 8.5/10

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS 9:50 in a 375-Seater - 26 People
Trailers:
THE FIGHTER UNSTOPPABLE IT'S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY (This trailer is before EVERYTHING at my theater ever since one was released, which is fine by me. I think it looks great and hopefully it will play well here with all of the exposure it's getting.)
I liked it. I can see how huge fans of the first might be disappointed, but I just "liked" the first, didn't love it. I thought this was probably on par though I personally may have enjoyed this a little more.
I'd give it a solid "B."

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
There were a lot of angry walkouts at the Friday night show of Catfish - - groups of people cursing at the screen as they stomped down the stairs. I guess it wasn't what they expected. I hadn't seen the trailer for it, but have since heard they had advertised it as kind of a horror movie - - turns out it's probably not a such good idea to attract the horror fans to a documentary.

Small opening and solid WOM from audiences. I doubt it's going to drop more than 35-36% next weekend. Plus, the women who did see Easy A this weekend, after having seen that, may check this out over the next couple of weeks. And yes, they do kind of make Catfish look like a horror movie in the ads.

This film was usurped by Easy A this weekend, suggesting people will perhaps rather watch Easy A again over You Again for the first time.

 Re: CROWD REPORTS (September 24th-26th)
It sounds like the people who did see it enjoyed it. And why wouldn't they? It's an easy crowd-pleaser. There's really no possible way You Again would suffer bad legs. Plus, it has a lot of appeal to adult women, and they don't always rush out opening weekend.

EASY A is also a PG-13 teen comedy. Those aren't known to have AMAZING legs. That being said, EASY A held up great, dropping less than MEAN GIRLS did in its second weekend. YOU AGAIN isn't a teen comedy. It has appeal to adult women, and is PG, which will help it appear to be somewhat family friendly. Not to mention there's just not a lot of competition for it.
