Re: Release Date Change Thread
It's almost surprising they didn't fast-track Super Troopers 3 to release this 4/20 weekend. Maybe that's when The Beach Bum should have opened.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold will now open on Wednesday, July 31.
I really doubt New Mutants will still be released that weekend...

Spider-Man: Far From Home now opens Tuesday, July 2. TFA record going down?
This July release schedule is absolutely awful. Was everyone really scared of TLK?

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Looks like it. I think the year in general has been scheduled poorly.
Just look at it:
- crappy January schedule due to Glass (which underperformed) - crappy February schedule (could have slotted in Shazam) - March was good but big event films too close together - April - Shazam in the wrong slot (sandwiched between Marvel and Endgame), too many horror films close together - May - DP too close to Endgame - June - too many big films close to each other (a few likely to flop) + Toy Story and Pets 2 are too close together

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Disney fucked up the 2019 schedule. And I don't see the schedule issues getting any better if all they release are remakes and tentpoles.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
So 1917 (Sam Mendes WW1 drama) is getting an expansion in Jan I take it.
Is PLAYMOBIL the first animated film to have a stab at Labour Day weekend?

Re: Release Date Change Thread
That will be the Black Widow film.
It was originally supposed to be Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Yeah they don't have anything else ready thanks to Gunn's initial firing.
There is a small chance they could slot The Eternals there but it will more likely get a December release.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Scott Derickson has done nothing since 2016 so its possible they could have Doctor Strange 2 done in time.
But it is most likely Black Widow. They’ve had a director for months and one would assume they don’t need as much time with post production.
What Disney should do is delay all the Marvel movies and slot Mulan there. Some time off would increase the anticipation for what comes next.

WB should fast track a DC film for December 2020, it's wide open like when Aquaman was released.

Blue Sky's FOSTER removed from the schedule completely. Gotta think we'll hear news pretty soon about their post-Disney future.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
Big but not unsurprising news about Avatar 2.
I agree that WB/DC should swoop in and schedule a tentpole in that slot. Otherwise, perhaps Marvel will consider it.
It's also a good slot for Masters of the Universe if it gets made.

Re: Release Date Change Thread
So New Mutants moves back another year. Just release it on Netflix already.
And December 2022 has the first new SW film since Skywalker slotted.
