not a chance, narnia will not open over 60m because if it did that would lead to a robust 350m-400m totaly, and well kk wont even open over 50m do to it being a wednesday opener. Openings in december are not big unless lord of the rings is attached to the films name.

This is what I think will enter the list this year:
Episode III, WOTW, Kong
possibly:
Lion, HP4 (something though that they will have to have a 90 opening probably)

I second that.
With King Kong and Batman Begins being a Wednesday release, the only movies that stand a good chance entering this list are War of the Worlds and S tar Wars: EPISODE III - Revenge of the Sith with Madagascar having a slim chance as well...

People said the same thing about Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Narnia isn't as well known as Lord of the Rings.
And, even if it is, it's nuts to say that Narnia can make the Top 10 openers of all time. It's literally absurd.

That's the point. Why would anyone think that Narnia can do better than The Fellowship of the Ring?
I'd say an opening just less than $40 million, but good (or great) legs.

Im still wondering what is up with the 70 million and under predictions for Batman Begins when the chart clearly has shown time and time again that the Batman movies have brken opening records and that was before year 2000 when there were barely any movies opening past 50 million

I still remember how Phantom Meance could of broke the record had it not came out on a wed. since that was a movie that everyone seem to think you had to see on opening day.
another one that I think could of broke it if it came out on friday is ID4.

Still it will open to over 70 million from friday to sunday. Maybe no record broken but I cant see it making below Batman & Robin and Forever's inflated opening weekends

Adjusted for inflation...
Batman: $63,743,300
Batman Returns: $68,806,800
Batman Forever: $75,839,700
Batman & Robin: $58,377,700
So, yeah, no lower than $60 million for the opening weekend. It might not top $70 million now, because of the Wednesday opening.

That's because HP and LOTR made fantasy the next hip thing so naturally there are people now awaiting Narnia. HP is a phenomenon in the world of books, a whole lot are reading it, even those who are not have at some point heard of it (well, except you it seems ), so when the first movie came out the hype was extremely big, the fanbase numerous. Narnia on the other hand is an old novel known to people who are more into literature, particulary fantasy literature (not unlike LOTR with the difference being that LOTR is more well known). Huge difference there.

Take into account the Batman movies opened in less than 2900 theaters

Those people were clearly in the minority.
