Tsk, tsk.
I agree on Son of the Mask (this may be the worst-looking piece of garbage to be released in theatres since Battlefield Earth), but don't underestimate the appeal of Beauty Shop. Not only does it have a female audience, it also has an urban audience.

Son of the Mask - nuff said!
The Pacifer - eww... Could anything be worse than this?
Deube Bigalo 2 - eh... too low to care
XXX 2 - Didn't watch the first, I'll be ill if I watch this
The Perfect Man - With Hilary Duff in it, she makes bombs
Saw 2 - First succeeds, this won't
King Kong - I assume most will avoid this
Underworld 2 - First film's 2nd wknd proves this will rust.
Movies that are undecided:
Elektra - let's see... idk nor do i care about her character, but is presumed to be hyped.
Chronicles of Narnia - intl. hype if you could say that
Pooh's Heffalump Movie - no more useless Disney hand-drawn sequels!
Miss Congeniality 2 - First is good, but... hmm
Amityville Horror - Like other recent horror movies, it might drop or slowly rise from day 1 or 3 (i.e. Friday)
House of Wax - same as Amityville Horror

I agree on some of those. Underworld 2 will probably duplicate the firsts success, which was produced on a budget of just $12 million. Therefore, if Underworld 2 has a similar budget, and similar marketing ($20 million), a domestic total of only $40 million, would mean profit, once international box-office and DVD sales are factored in.
I doubt Chronicles of Narnia will bomb. It may not be up to LoTR status, but it should easily clear $150+ million. Same for King Kong.

Yeah, I think so too. It will probably open much higher then the original, but have very short legs.

Son of the Mask if there is any justice in the world.
Beauty Shop won't bomb, because in order to bomb their needs to be high production costs. The Barber Shop two were fairly cheap to make, and their is a fixed fan base plus Lahtifah is a big draw. It won't make tons, but it will cover its own costs or get extremely close to it before dvd sales.

For me, I'd say that The Fantastic Four is just one of those movies that really doesn't look any better FX wise than the Roger Corman version does.. The budget for this is incredibly smaller than what it should be to do this properly and also, I still say KING KONG isn't going to be much better than the 76 version of KING KONG, but will see.. I see many of posters putting up sketches of KING KONG and granted, the sketches look good, but then again, so did the sketches for the last 2 SW Prequel movies as well and look how they turned out?? Great artist renderings on these sketches doesn't automatically translate to a better movie when the final product is finished.. I'm kind of anxious to see what the critics will say about KONG when it's completed and if they'll gush over it cause Jackson's doing it and can do no wrong or whether it will be hammered because of being heavily compared to the awesome 1933 Classic that is still the best no matter what Jackson puts out???..

Come on guys... The Son of the Mask? It takes no balls to list something like that.
- The Chronicles of Narnia won't bomb, but I don't think it's another Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings, it reminds me more of a Peter Pan (2003). There are various reasons for this...
- As good or bad as it turns out, I don't think a vast audience is going to support A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Or if that audience DOES support it, it probably compromised the story too much. Miracles happen from time to time though where story is not compromised too much and the audience takes a chance.
- That's a tough weekend for A Hitchhiker's Guide, which will also be fighting against potential bomb Kingdom of Heaven.
- With War of the Worlds in full swing, ILM reportedly super far into CG production, and a trailer hitting really soon, the date seems set in stone. This is super bad news for Fantastic Four who is released on the same weekend and shares a fair share of the same demographic. Personally? It looks like a poor TV movie with a poor TV cast. It won't bomb unless it is super bad (which is a possiblity), but it is definately not the highest profile comic superhero movie of the summer and is eclipsed on its own date. The world is not fair to Fantastic Four, but even if you are a fan, you have to admit that Marvel has given a bit of a shaft to a pretty important property.
- I don't expect King Kong to be bad, but there is an excellent chance of it underperforming (I would consider underperforming making like $135 million).
What else...
- I am not convinced Batman Begins can make $200+ million, but am probably wrong about that.
- Sin City will find its audience but not much more. They will be lucky with $60 million :?

Possibly. I still think it will do much better. It has the Disney marketing machine behind it after all.
