Wow, just... wow. On the weekend where everything drops incredibly hard, National Treasure dropped about 45% even though it's been pulling over $30 million the past two weekends. Unbelievable.

Yep, it's the very definition of a crowd-pleaser. I know I had fun when I saw it.
Anyway, these drops are surprisingly small for the post-Thanksgiving weekend, especially when you consider the smallest drop in the top 10 last year was something like 59%.

Yeah, I guess that's what misleaded me when I went to predict the movies.

Right now, I see a total of about $150 million for National Treasure. Also, I think we'll see Closer making about $7.7 million for the weekend, since it increased about 15% on Saturday, and should drop about 38% on Sunday. That would give it an awesome PTA of almost $18,000.

I don't remember who said it, but it does look to be the Pirates of the Carribean of 2004, only in a smaller scale.

Disney so needed it. This year was craptacular for them. Not even the Incredibles saved em.

The smallest drop was Bad Santa's, it dropped 42.9%.
You have to keep in mind that the holdovers had to fight of Honey and The Last Samurai.

It looks like they're having a good second half of the year. They just need to learn to spend their money wisely, and not on crap like Around the World in 80 Days. If they expected over $100 million for that, they were high on something.

I know! It pissed me off royally. There other films we not such a bad idea. They went a little overboard on Hidalgo, but atleast things like Home on the Range and King Arthur were more serious attempts than a Jackie Chan movie....

King Arthur was a success anyways because of huge international numbers, and Hidalgo didn't "bomb" like everyone said it did because I don't know what people were expecting out of that one anyways.

The Polar Express is a little over-estimated for Sunday. The Sunday drop should be about 30-35%. Anyway, very good numbers overall, as the top 10 hit $80M total without new wide releases.

The drops this year are a hell of a lot better than last years. Spongebob will not make $100m now and The Incredibles will probably fail $300m unless it has some amazing holiday legs. WOW! To National Treasure for having 3 weekends in a row at 1st place and to making it to $100m.
