HARD CANDY is really taking a hit, getting dropped from most theatres, and downgrading to only one or two shows at the few theatres it's remaining at. So much for that movie.

Mission Impossible 3
5/2/06, 7:00 PM
Sold Out in a 472 Seater
Trailers:
Nacho Libre
Movie:
This is a cross between the first and the second. It has the intrigue of the Depalma movie and the coolness of the Woo movie.
The movie starts off with a bang and never lets go. One of the best action movies I have seen in a long time. Performances are good all around. I would rate this a notch below the first one and well above the second one.

Damn it. I loved that movie. At least it was made for cheap and should do decent when it hits DVD, which I hope is soon. When does everyone expect its DVD specs to be announced? I'm really hoping for a commentary track with the two actors and the director David Slade or writer Brian Nelson.

That movie is hard to beat. I loved the complex storyline and the intrigue. The second was a very well made action movie, though lacking the spy elements. The third one has a little of both.

The Promise will in fact be shown in quite a few theaters in the bay area. South bay alone, it will be on the three major ones (AMC Mercado, Great Mall, and Shoreline) as well as the big art house theater (Santana Row). I guess that's understandable given the Asian population here; still, the actual theater count could be in the 400-500 level.
